A Rio de Janeiro native bassist/composer/arranger active in the Jazz, Pop/Rock and World Music scenes. Graduated on upright bass in ‘94 at Uni-Rio Conservatory, I play any bass (upright, electric, fretless and synth). More than 20 years of experience recording and touring with many of Brazil's top recording artists.
40 years in the music business playing all styles of music. I have a great ear for making up the right guitar part to accompany your tune. I played guitar (and arranged the horns and strings) on Astrud Gilberto's last 2 CD's ("Temperance" and "Jungle"). Very comfortable in both Brazilian and American styles.
Get your bass track recorded on acoustic and electric bass. I'm Alex Rocha from Rio de Janeiro. I've got a Latin Grammy Award certification for my contribution on singer Emílio Santiago's live CD "Só Danço Samba ao vivo" , winner on 2012. I can play in many styles like Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Samba, Bossa Nova, Latin Rhythms, R'n'B, Funk, etc.
