Produced tracks for Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Prodigal Sunn and many others. if you vibe with my profile here let's chat and see what we can create together.
About my approach:
The connection with anyone I work with is #1, let's see if we vibe and what magic we can create. It would be awesome to create something memorable in the time we choose to create together.
What I do:
I produce songs based off my connection to you and your lyrics you bring to me. I work in ableton, sometimes I write everything from scratch, sometimes I will use royalty free samples or hire session players. I'm not attached to it looking a certain way just focused on bringing out the sound your song is asking for.
Tech:
I work with ableton, use various plugins (Waves, Izotope, etc.) I have a Macbook/M1 processor and a small studio I work out of, or sometimes wherever I'm at, could be a couch, airport or a multi-million dollar studio it doesn't matter.

It’s always the dream to find like-minded creative people on something as potentially random as Soundbetter, and I have to say that Jamin and I really hit it off on every project we do together…. as ever, communication is great… friendly, clear and relaxed, but always aiming at the highest standard. Go on folks… give him your project to take to the next level!

Jamin is someone I always enjoy working with. His briefs are always so well communicated and I always know there’s going to be a great positive energy in the air whenever we work together… I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing help with their songs, creatively, technically, all of it!

This is the 3rd job I’ve done with / for Jamin. He is a fantastically enthusiastic and passionate producer who always expresses to me what he wants in a way that allows me to follow my own instincts whilst knowing that I am going in the direction he wants… It’s not always easy to get the best out of people but I feel he has that ability naturally,.

I have now had three production jobs / collaborations with Jamin, and it feels like a great partnership between hemispheres...a new definition of the British / USA "special relationship" if you like. My experience of working with him can be defined by these words....in no particular order...fun, dedicated, talented, imaginative, positive....and yes, I'd recommend him as a producer / collaborator without any question. PS he never seems to sleep...is he an alien??? mmmm

Interview with Jamin Van Dillen
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm writing a song about a betrayal I went through with two spiritual mentors I had, very painful song to write. Also, I am currently producing an 80s style dance song for a client and I hired an amazing singer from sweden to lay down the vocals on it.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. There are great benefits to both. The ease of being able to slice and dice so quickly with digital it amazing. But, if I had a stupid budget and someone who knew how to run, edit and cut tape, I'd take all digital all day.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That if I we vibe and I choose to work with you, I'll give you everything I got for your project.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The people I get to work with and the connection we create.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Nothing, people who get it, just get it. I'll find out quickly if the vibe is there.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let's connect and see what we can create. Let's vibe and talk like friends.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Good question! I'd take my laptop, Nueman U87, Recording Booth, Avalon Mic Pre-Amp and 88-Key Keyboard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been making music all my life and producing for over 20 years. My path has been all over the place, doing studio work in L.A. was slim but I learned a lot about what I didn't want. Around that time in 2010 I had a manager who put my instrumentals in front of Nicki Minaj who chose a beat but never used it. Britney Spears and an up and coming artists were working on a song that I produced and it was shelved due to her drug use and blowing the deal. I then started created music for high-end entrepreneurs for a while and made great money. in 2020, I started rapping and it was very liberating. Currently, I create music for other artists and myself.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: if the vibe is there in that moment get out all that you can, if you can finish a recording it in one setting that is best. The power of creation in that moment is most powerful and it's hard to try and come back to that another day.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually, rap, pop, rock, dance and soulful music. But not limited to specific genres. Again it's always about the connection and what we want to created.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Capturing the vibe and emotion of the song. Being in the moment of it.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My ability to connect with the person and truly understand their song, connect with them as a human being and use my god given intuitive flow for creating music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Every person I work with the process is different, it all starts with the energy of what the client is going through or wants to convey musical. That will drive the creation and I put that above all.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Mac M1, Ableton, SSL +2, Slate Digital ML-1 Mic, Too many plugins to list.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm most inspired by tapping into my own intuitive flow and allowing the creative to come out that way. The connection with anyone I work with is #1, if we don't vibe I won't be able to do and I'm not scared to say no. If money is the priority over making something magical than it doesn't inspire me. There are lots of people out there that will take your money, I want to create something memorable in the time we choose to create together.
