I am a multi award winning songwriter, musician & producer, with over 30 years experience & have had number 'ones' in over 30 countries including the US. After huge success with Right Said Fred, I am currently writing & producing with George Clinton/ Parliament, Funkadelic. I have also worked with Outkast, Lady Miss Kier (Deelite) and Sly Stone.
In the early 90's, I co-wrote a song called 'I'm Too Sexy' with 'Right said Fred' which became a huge hit all around the world..along with the album 'UP'.
Taylor Swift has just had a big hit with her new single which includes an 'interpolation' of I'm Too Sexy'.
I have been significantly influenced by the Blues and P-Funk. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up through the 1960's which was such an exciting time for new music... Especially enjoying Cream, Hendrix, Sly Stone, The Beatles and George Clinton's P-Funk. Though, I find todays advances in music are just as exciting. I like a positive vibe and keep my sense of fun while playing. I have just got a 'Sitar' Guitar which is real fun & unique.
I work from my studio in SW London with my engineer/mixer/producer wife Sue Brooks/Manzoli.
If you were to work with me through 'SoundBetter', we would discuss the vibe that you want to achieve on your tracks. Then, swapping files via 'SoundBetter', we can create the perfect sound for you.
I have a lot of experience in writing, arranging & producing music. I can gladly offer advice if you need it.
I specialise in Guitar & bass but can handle keyboard parts too... I love to to build string arrangements & synth parts.

Rob did a great job as I asked him to do a lot and he delivered. Would definitely recommend working with him! A pleasure!
Rob has been very patient with the feedback I gave him and fast and hard working.
Rob was a pleasure to work with.. fast, efficient and provided the perfect guitar tracks for my original which was not a 1,4,5 pop song. He intuitively understood the feel from a rough track and I did not have to ask for any changes. He is a consummate professional and highly recommend.
Let me put my sunglasses on cause Rob n Sue just dropped da bomb on all us interplanetary extraterrestrial thumpasorus peoples. Supergroovalistic masterfunk straight from da Mothership!!!
Rob is simply the best. He laid down some serious funk grooves for me that were tasty as can be, and recorded perfectly too. He did exactly what I asked and then added some ideas of his own to give me plenty of options. The only hard part now will be choosing what to use. A total pro all the way. Highly recommended.
It was great working with Rob! He was able to provide me with lots of excellent material until we came up with a perfect fit.
Rob and Sue have been awesome from start to finish and brought an incredible feel to my songs - really easy to work with and really nice people - loving the tracks - Sean
Awesome - quick and really good tracks - great feel and very easy to work with so I am doing more for sure
Ron did an amazing job playing guitar on my single. He recorded lots of options for me to choose from and provided me with dry and wet files. He was easy to communicate with and delivered everything to me within a short time. Would highly recommend Rob!
rob delivered a professional product quickly and didn't need direction. very good creative vision. i would for sure recommend him to someone else.
Rob is an absolute professional. Works quickly and a great ear for what the song requires. As well as providing ample tracks, overdubs and alternate takes to use, your track is in good hands with him.
Rob is very good guitarist, and he has good vibes and feelings, it's very easy to work with him and he is very fast.
Had such a brilliant experience working with Sue ( and Rob). Communications were excellent but most importantly the quality of the work and also the passion for the project was second to none.
I could not recommend Sue more highly.
Rob n Sue came through again! They created a melody for my song and added some great effects to the guitar and synth keyboard, it all sounds awesome! They are transporting heavy funk and psychedelic rock from the mothership directly to my track!
Rob n Sue just took the song to a whole new funky stratosphere, I can´t get any better than this!
Rob´s guitar playing is funky and it ROCKS!!!

Did more work with Rob. He was outstanding, as always. Very creative on guitar, synths, & percussion. Thank you, Rob!
Rob and his partner Sue are funk royalty. From what I can tell, Rob can play guitar & bass in just about any style of music. I can vouch for his world-class abilities in funk & blues. And Sue can record & mix with the best of ‘em! Working with Rob and Sue was a great experience!
Rob will always deliver something unexpected & top notch. His unique creative style, and sounds are an asset to any song he plays on.
Very nice to work with, and an excellent musician.
Interview with Rob Manzoli.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Logic ProX on an iMac
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Guitar solos, fills and rhythms. Whatever their track needs. Songwriting around a clients vocal or idea.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Sue Brooks /Manzoli. My partner who is a great engineer, mixer and producer. Chuck Sabo.. an old friend and great drummer. He played on ‘I’m To Sexy’ . . My first number one hit.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both really. Nothing beats the warmth of analog. Digital is just so reliable and easy to work with.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to do the thing I love most and get paid for it. I would still do it job or not.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Thinking that all I do, or have ever done, is to aimlessly sit around ‘twiddling my guitar’ . My mother often asks if I’m still ‘twiddling’ !!!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I won't stop working on your song until you are really happy!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Have just finished some tracks for George Clinton's new 'Parliament' album which was released a couple of weeks ago; 'Medicaid Fraud Dogg'. Check out 'Riddle Me This', Sue and I wrote and recorded this in our studio. George added some brass and vocals. I'm now producing some songs for George Clinton's grandson . Trazae. Who is a hugely talented singer and songwriter .
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: 'The Naz' ! I wrote and recorded this track around a rough vocal by Sly Stone that was given to me by George Clinton. It ended up as the first track on George’s album ‘first u gotta shake the gate ‘... and the only track that Sly Stone has released in nearly 30 years. Sly Stone’s music has been a huge inspiration to me for years . So the fact that he released this track was a real honor !
