Frank Colón is a specialist in Latin-Caribbean and Brazilian percussion instruments including congas, bongos, timbales, bata drums, shekere, cuica, and berimbau. As a sideman with the Manhattan Transfer for 12 years, he collaborated on two of their Grammy awards and was voted in 1988 as“Most Influential Percussionist of the Year.
I'm a professional drummer/percussionist with over 20 years of experience. I play from Puertorrican drumming, Afro-caribbean music, funk, world to cinematic, latin jazz, salsa, pop rock and many more. My skills will help your project sound unique.
For the last 11 years I have held the drum set and MD chair for Big Daddy Kane's band. I graduated Berklee School of Music with a deep love and understanding of technique, production, and a myriad of genres including Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Hip--Hop, Drum n Bass, EDM, Pop, Trap, Blues, Fusion, Salsa, West African Rhythm, etc. I love it all!
