Since my first audio job in 1966, I’ve recorded/mixed with countless producers, directors, actors, composers, arrangers, vocalists, and musicians. I have a special affinity for music in particular and for the performing arts in general.
My name is Phil Karis and I've been playing guitar professionally since 2004, both live on stage and in the studio. I've studied guitar in the Netherlands and at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and focus primarily on eclectic pop-rock music influenced by jazz and blues. My motto: It's all about the feel!

I’m a versatile session musician, specializing in the music of West Africa. I play Fula flute, djembé, ngoni, balafon, and more. I spent two decades traveling/living in West Africa to study with the masters. I also have a decade of experience in Logic Pro, and a selection of beautiful microphones and plugins to go with it.
