Lazy Keys (aka Matthew Shaffner) is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and engineer with a background in a wide array of genres including Indie/Alternative Rock, Hip Hop, RnB, Funk, Disco, and more. His vocal style is very powerful and was derived from such inspirations as Muse, Coldplay, New Politics, Cold War Kids, and Mutemath.
Singing and writing music is one of my greatest passions. I've been singing since i was 8 and now being 25 have yet to lose the drive for it. recently made the decision to take music on full-time because doing anything else just wasn't fulfilling. music is the reason i roll out of bed every morning so its time i surrender completely to it.
At my core, I'm a mix engineer, but in a modern musical world the lines between mixing and production can get blurry. I work right in that blur. I started as a recording artist and a producer, and eventually moved into mixing. I don't mix a song without bringing that prior experience of recording artist and producer with me.
