@L3X OLIV3R (pronounced Alex Oliver) is no stranger to darkness. Whatever your mood is, Alex will amplify it and be with you through it all. He weaves a loner's narrative through enchanting choruses, a multi-syllabic rhyming style, and witty punchlines. Alex turns off the lights and invites you to sit in the dark with him and makes you want to.
Whatever your mood is, @l3x will amplify it and be with you through it all. He combines the complex lyrical maneuvers of Tech N9ne with an intoxicating flow that's reminiscent of Migos. The production style is dark, diverse, and futuristic and reminds one of the stylings of Kid Cudi or Travis Scott, but @l3x tackles subjects that aren't typically explored in rap. Sure, he drinks too much, engages with too many promiscuous women, and smokes more hookah than any mortal should, but in the next breath he's quoting H.H. Holmes and digging into ideas of depression, insecurity, self-loathing, and abandonment. @l3x is unabashedly pessimistic. He weaves a loner's narrative through enchanting choruses, a multi-syllabic rhyming style, and witty punchlines. His music is hot, smoky, and reckless. @l3x turns off the lights and invites you to sit in the dark with him and makes you want to.
Welcome to the next enigma of Hip-Hop music. Get ready to go so deep into hell that you'll forget to care about heaven, and to get so high that you'll forget hell ever existed. His music is hot, smoky, and reckless. It's a quick overindulgence with someone you can't keep your eyes off of. His rhymes are written on the small of your back, and they leave scars. It's not for the timid, but for those that have smelled the devil's breath and lived to tell the tale, it’s nothing short of magic.

Interview with l3x Oliv3r
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment, I'm working on a few projects. I'm releasing weekly songs on social media with a project I'm calling "30 4 30". I'm also finalizing my EP "Faust I" and my album "Al3x in Wond3rland".
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. We live in a contemporary society focused on advance and progress. You have to stay with the times.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Satisfaction. If you hire me as a rapper for your song, you will have a portion of your song that engages your audience's ear completely. Whether you want Eminem style lyrical complexity or repetitive lyrics to emphasis the main point of the song, you will be completely satisfied with hiring me.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: "The other side was sunny I get paid to rap on beats" - 21 Savage Rapping and songwriting is my passion, my life, and my goal in life. There is nothing I like more than helping people reach other people through music.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think when clients hire rappers, they think that rappers can only talk about one issue. Maybe its money, maybe its women, maybe its materialistic endeavors. When a client hires me, they get whatever they are looking for. If the song is about a wedding, I can rap about a wedding. If the song is a comedic endeavor, I can do that as well. I am completely here for the client and what they are seeking to take their song to the next level.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Think of the versatility of the rapper you''re looking for. Can the provider make songs about any topic? Displaying any emotion? In any genre? When you hire me, whatever your song is about and whatever key or genre it is in, you'll have a hip hop verse that fits your vision perfectly.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: If I were on a desert island I would bring my MacBook, my audio interface, my mic, micstand, and SOMEHOW SOMEWAY a way to connect to internet. Any song can be done.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a chameleon. Whatever is needed is what I will adopt. If I need to do complex lyrical maneuvers with punchlines I will, If I need to do catchy simplistic lyrics I will. Whatever is necessary for the song.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Listen to your song acapella to hear all the little errors about your vocals you would normally miss.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically do alternative hip-hop. I rap on trap and chill beats as well, but (in my opinion) my best works manifests with a consistent drum pattern, beat, or instrumentation.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is empathy. After that its mastery over the English language for song writing. I can rhyme door hinge, with orange, with Florence, etc. Whether you are looking for a rap verse that has four syllables rhyming every line, a catchy hook, or a complete song from start to finish, I have enough experience rhyming words to deliver exactly what you need to make your track excellent.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a NEW VOICE to a song. Sometimes when a fan or consumer listens to a track they don't even know why they're tuning out or getting bored. When I hop on a song, I am changing my flow every four bars, I'm adding punchlines and multi-syllabic rhymes, I keep the ear engaged for the entire duration of my vocal performance. I provide a breath of fresh air to anything I'm assigned on.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I typically listen to a song to understand its intended vibe or content, then I'll freestyle some lyrics to conjure different cadences throughout the entirety of the song to make the track interesting. Then, I'll write the lyrics of the song to make a cohesive "story", ensuring to change the rhythm ever so often to keep the ear entertained. Then I'll go into my lyrics to add as many multi-syllabic rhymes and punchlines as possible. Finally, I'll edit my lyrics for breath control.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a Neumann TLM 103 Mic hooked up to Pro Tools to record in studio like settings, with professional quality.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a huge fan of Eminem, Tech N9ne, Royce da 5'9", Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, Migos, Future, Drake, Giveon, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, and more. I try to combine the lyrical abilities of technical rappers, with the melodic abilities of more emotional rappers, and incorporate more sensual elements into songs deserving of such.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: At the current moment, I write verses to go on client's songs. Eventually, I hope that my clients can entrust me with the vision of their songs completely. Whether that is writing the hook for their song, writing the entire song from the intro to the hook to the verses to the outro, or providing a rap verse with me as a featured artist, or writing a rap verse for the client themselves, I hope to be a trusted provider. Whether I'm credited or ghost writing, I hope to take my client's songs to the next level and help their dreams and visions manifest in reality.
