My second time working with Nikos. Beautiful playing as always, and he brought some great ideas to the arrangement that added depth to the song.
Once again, Nikos has done an outstanding job on a very difficult piece. Highly, highly recommended!

I don't know where to start...
I entrusted Nikos with the strings arrangement of my pop/motown track, and with his blessed ears, perfect play and stunning sound quality, he managed to breathe LIFE into my music like no one else can.
If you want anything pro strings/violin related, this is your guy. Search no more. You will NEVER regret.
Nikos was prompt, polite and most importantly- delivered amazing tone and heart with his performance. He exceeded my expectations and I'll be using him again. Top notch talent.
If you need remote string recordings done, Nikos is your best option. Always does quality work and takes the time to get things sounding exactly how you want.
Nikos did a fantastic job with a lead violin part and string arrangement on my track. Great tone, very conscientious, reasonable rates.

Easy communication. Got the work done fast. Will be working with him again soon.
I hired Nikos for some violin and Viola parts and he sent me very clear and professional sounding tracks. Definetely recommended!
Nikos Mavridis is the man you need for your recording session (or live gig)
We had dozens of studio sessions in all different music genres, from pop to rock to metal, from classical to gipsy. Either playing from sheet or improvising, Nikos will deliver with great pitch and tone. Occasionally I had him playing the Hammond for me, too :)
I guess, having him flying from greece over to germany around 20 times for studio sessions in the last 10 years shows he is worth it ;)
Professional experience on Recording studio
Most talented violinist I know. Have been working together for years, always beyond perfect!
Interview with Nikos Mavridis
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will be satisfied with my musical experience and my classical professionalism.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am a violin teacher, participating in Classical concerts as an Orchestra member, Violin or Viola, doing solo Projects, traveling as a session Violinist, composing my own music, recording strings for various projects, currently a member of "Field Commander C", a Leonard Cohen Tribute Band from Germany.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am especially proud to have participated twice in the International Violin Masterclass of Leonidas Kavakos. He is one of the best worldwide and this was a dream come true and a huge honor.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: We are lucky to have a choice. I choose both.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: A a musician I have travelled a lot, met lots of people, played lots of different music and look forward to do exactly the same in the future.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I have not noticed a misconception till now. It is what it is.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Depends on what the client needs. There are questions about sound, style, arrangement etc.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My father is a Violinist, so i do it since I was a child. Studies in Classical music. Regular studio experience since 2007 with a great number of Bands and genres. Meantime doing concerts as a Classical Violinist, Viola, session Musician, and trying my luck as music composer.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My best style is of course a Classical kind of sound. But I can adapt it to other music styles if needed.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you want to add some analog warmth to your harmonies, play some sublime Hammond organ to it. No one will notice, but it will make a huge difference. Done it many times with a friend that owns a Professional Studio. We call it a homeopathic dose of Hammond. (The Hammond must be real. No plugins). I am the lucky owner of a T-500.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Whatever kind of music requires a violin or a string ensemble. Literally anything. From Pop to Folk, Metal or Electronic music. Strings nowadays can serve many purposes.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have perfect pitch, a relatively fast prima vista, lots of experience in studio and on stage and a very solid violin technique. Besides that I have a very broad personal musical taste for many music genres, for that reason I can adapt very good to the demands of a particular type of music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Whatever a customer needs. It could be a String Arrangement, it could be a Solo, or something totally sublime. I am very flexible about this.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Customer sends an Audio or midi File, or describes his wishes verbally. I try to get the best picture I can about the sound and the style. I make the recordings and if needed we make a few changes. Usually not much changes need to be done, as long as the communication is good enough from the start.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Rick Rubin, Radiohead, Nigel Godrich, Johny Greenwood,
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Petros Voudouris. A sound engineer, a friend, and the person that helped to make this profile.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Audient iD14 Soundcard with Burr Brown converters. Aston Origin Microphone. Logic Pro X.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A 3/4 Classic Guitar and 4 sets of strings.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording Violins. Arranging Strings. Enhance synthetic string sections. Improvisation.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I am obsessed with Radiohead. Because it is a superb Band.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: There are no common questions yet.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as exact as you can about what you want. Feel free to talk a lot about it. Send reference tracks. Online collaboration can be tricky, so the more I know the better I can understand what the customer wants.
