Hapt贸s is a word that comes from ancient Greek and refers to haptic perception, that is, perception through the active exploration of the sense of touch. We have decided to use this name because, after more than 15 years dedicated to sound, we are convinced that it is the best way to describe our relationship with sounds.

Frank Col贸n is a specialist in Latin-Caribbean and Brazilian percussion instruments including congas, bongos, timbales, bata drums, shekere, cuica, and berimbau. As a sideman with the Manhattan Transfer for 12 years, he collaborated on two of their Grammy awards and was voted in 1988 as鈥淢ost Influential Percussionist of the Year.
