AudibleOddities was founded in San Francisco during the late 90's by multi-Grammy, Fryderyk, & JUNO nominated, and ADISQ/SOCAN winning mastering engineer, Shawn Hatfield. Passionate about the science and emotion of sound, Shawn’s been fully immersed as a mastering engineer for over 25 years.
During nearly 15 years of sound career, I managed to try myself out in most of the possible fields, genres & roles: from recording & mixing classical music to recording and mixing Merzbow concert; winning awards for composing music to theatre, as well as for sound design to a movie. I think I can call myself a special taskforce for your project!
20 years working in audio from soundsystem engineering, production to mastering, my unique perspective of all sides of the audio process gives me an understanding of how music should sound, and it gives you years of sound experience dealing with YOUR music.
He began his journey into sound exploration during the early eighties experimenting in various London studios during the graveyard shift. This has encompassed working in a number of areas of the studio industry, from Abbey Road, through the "powerhouse" that is Metropolis into the ultimate in artist owned studios Realworld to running Mu-Mu.
