Being both an artist and a mixing engineer, I can understand an artist's request better than other mixing engineers, and I can avoid a lot of mistakes that other fellow mixing engineers made mainly on vocals.
I am coming from a family full of musicians, so I could say that it is in my genes. I started mixing and mastering music about 4 years ago, so the experience has built up.
