I believe the sounds and music have to tell a story that isn't only on 12 differents notes combinations. There are more frequencies on a song than the tonal/scale notes giving the identity of each sound.
Mastering smooth and sweet sounds, then flipping to strong and bold vocals is my jam. Think Florence + The Machine with a bit more warmth or Feist with a bit more strength and I'll see you there in the middle. I LOVE creating harmonies and can blend beautifully into the background or stop the show. Your call ;)
