My name is Steve Rutledge. I am a Producer/Engineer as well as a Professional Guitarist/Bass/Keys/vocalist. I was in Nashville for 15 years on the road and in the studio sessions with a lot of major artists as MD/Lead guitarist/BGV. I started Steel String Recording Studio in 2001.
We're a full production studio located in a quiet neighborhood in Des Moines. We accommodate projects of all kinds: bands, singers, voiceovers, podcasts, etc. We have some of the best equipment on the market for recording the highest quality sound possible. With fifteen years in the professional industry, I have shared the stage as a guitarist with Myron Williams, Tasha Cobbs, Afro Bop Alliance, Jay Daversa, Marcus Anderson, Dorinda Clarke, and many more.
I'm producer, arranger, and instrumentalist for over 25 years. I have worked with Tom Zé, Ney Matogrosso, Coletivo Samba Noir (with Egberto Gismonti, Arto Lindsay, Carlos Malta). When I worked at Albatroz Music (Roberto Menescal) I produced, arranged, and recorded Bossa Nova style more than 400 tracks for the Eastern market.
