SIME - Cluster B Studio on SoundBetter

Make it sound memorable.

Hi! I'm Sime, a mix engineer & singer/songwriter from Italy.
I have 30+ years of experience in music, and this is what I can help you with:

* GRITTY ROCK & METAL VOCALS: Do you need impactful, distorted vocals for your track - think Pantera, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Bring Me The Horizon, Lorna Shore? That's the style of singing I specialize in! I can either follow your vocal melody, or write a new one; with all my vocal deliveries you will also get free double tracking & harmonies.

* METAL & ROCK MIXES: Need your track to sound smashing? I have 10+ years of experience as an audio engineer and I'll edit, mix & master your track to industry standards - all at an affordable rate!

* GHOSTWRITING: Need help with your music and lyrics? Consider it done! I've been writing music since my early teens, and I can write custom music & lyrics to fit the mood you're going for.

Sounds good?
Then let's get it done!

I started collaborating with Sime back in 2019. Since the very begenning, he definitely proved to be fast, competent and very professional, always accomodating my many requests in the best way he could.
In the past 4 years, indeed, he has mixed, mastered and produced for me over 40 songs, including both vocal and instrumental covers as well as original tracks.
Sime proved to have amazing skills to deal with the most complex and diversified instrimental abd vocal parts.
He never let me down and I'm always happy to collab with him!

Interview with SIME - Cluster B Studio

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: I work 100% in the box: Universal Audio interface & preamps, Neumann KH120a monitors & Sennheiser HD600 headphones (both corrected with Sonarworks) plus my beloved Avantone MixCube for mono monitoring; I sing into a Shure SM7B microphone with Neve preamp, 1176 compression & Pultec EQ UAD sims, and I have a vast collection of sound libraries for production purposes (Komplete 12 Ultimate, Steven Slate drums, PunkBass & all the Odeholm audio basses, most Neural DSP amp sims and BIAS FX 2, Serum synth & XO sampler), while my plugin selection is a mix of FabFilter, Waves, Slate, iZotope & SoundToys.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital! I respect anyone who has a preference for analog gear, but I enjoy the in-the-box workflow way more. Plus, this way I am not constantly distracted by wanting to get the fanciest gear out there, and I can focus on the choices that actually make the biggest difference.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I can remember making my own music as a young songwriter & being constantly afraid that the work of the people I hired, with the little money I had, wouldn't live up to my expectations. I want to be that person that paints a smile on the artist's face, what I sell is the feeling that someone took your idea seriously and helped you bring it to life just how you envisioned it - at an affordable price.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Have an idea of the finished product that's as clear as possible. Send references, give honest feedback, go for what you actually want. The more you help me, the more I can help you.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I've been singing & audio engineering for the last 10 years of my life. I've made my living in music for 20+ years.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Up & coming bands & recording artists with fresh ideas - I find those are often the most thrilling projects!

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Definitely Metal music. I can also work in other genres, but I strongly believe in specialization!

  15. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  16. A: Great communication & teamwork. You will be listened to, and you will be happy with the final result.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: Raw, aggressive, unafraid.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: Mixing, vocal tuning & mastering - mainly for artists & bands who record their tracks at home. I also sing on commission a lot!
