Peace & blessings, I am Rahim, (Rah Da N.O.C.) music producer, genres are R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and Dance Hall.

I love with working with independent artist, and major artist. It's just hypes me up working with and independent artist and watching them flourish coming from the ground up. Having fun, is the main ingredient to being successful. So don't worry let's vibe and make it happen.

I have an affinity to music, I love to start from scratch and make wonderful music. I'm a fan of singers and writers.
To get to a place with fresh new ideas and express music as an art. If you have any questions just contact me, and lets make some wonderful music.

Sounds? Don't worry, I have 50+ thousand sounds, from drums to percussion, strings, EFX, pads, synths, leads, 808 bass, etc.

To help you understand a little more, the levels, I produce:

2. Pop - Ballads, to uptempo.
3. Hip Hop - Trap music (soul), Hip Hop (boom bap), & R&B Hip Hop.

Interview with RAHIM AKA RAH DA N.O.C.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am almost finished my loop kits, and right now concentrating on the R&B world. I will have my own company which is wonderful. I'm proud of my skill set and how dedicated I am towards it.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Independent artist Drosz, he's very talented. He's very versatile. I started out doing one track now he wants 2 more lol

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes, Breanna Marin, Akire. Tempo stokes. Their really dope, and a few others.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. I use to have analog gear, now I am inside the box. No noise floor, meaning every sound will be crystal clear with no hum noise in it and I don't have to raise mixing levels like you have to when dealing with analog. You get a better sense of mixing with EQ and hearing clearly your boosting cutting ratio when in the mix. Yes I use to argue, analog this and analog that...... Now look at me lol I wish I could show the pics of my home studio back in 2000 to 2012, where I had all this gear. Now I'm only down to a blown out computer ( beast ), my favorite midi keyboard, 40 inch Monitor screen, two speaker monitors, single fader port LPD8 pad module and that's it. Unless you want to count my mesh chair, mouse and typing keyboard, be my guess :-) Being compact is the way to go for me and I get to it! I'm very happy.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To do my best every time and have great communication with them, we'll get it done. I love catching the big fish and come out with a great product.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: That I have the skills to do it and it's do much FUN, Fun, fun!!!!!!

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Can you do a certain style, and I tell them send me a reference of the track. Then the thang happens lol And they are shocked.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That this happens overnight.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: MIDI keyboard, Computer, Omnisphere 2, Reason 11 and Studio One. That is all I need and we can get it done!

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I have been doing this since the late 80's in the New York scene. Music is in my soul, I want to do this because it will never be a job because I love to do it. :-)

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: My style is clean music, pad driven, great drums and bass, would make me who I am.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I would love to work with Celine Dion and Chris Brown. I am a big fan of raw vocals and they would bring my music to life!!!!

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Don't ever crowd a track with lots of sounds, space your sounds out, and give room for the artist. Practice and keep learning.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: R&B and Trap.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Chords, and Drum Programming and Arranging a song.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: I bring high quality music production, my knowledge of doing an entire record. Great drum programming and arrangements.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: I have 3 ways I can start production, I can start from baselines, looping chords, or from drums.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: My setup first starts with a powerful, blown out computer, PC that I love. I have over 50,000 sounds, for different reasons to make a great track come alive. I have in my possession, Korg Triton, Triton Extreme software. I have all the Roland software I know people love the Juno 106 :-). Omnisphere 2 (best synth on the planet). My two DAWs that I use are, Studio one 5.4 and Reason 11. They are both so flexible and get the job done when I use my techniques. Fabfilter all of the programs for that. SSL EQ and Reverb. I have over 10,000 drums along with percussion. The list is really to long, but we will make it happen.

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: Rodney Jerkins, Tim&Bob, Danja Hands, Teddy Riley. etc

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: Music production, and arrangement of that music.
