“I've touted Erika Schiff 's singing abilities for so long, it might seem like she's a woman in her 60s rather than the sprightly twenty something that she is. Philly's resident blue-eyed soul chanteuse pays her bills as a session singer, has done backing vocals for old area cats like John Eddie and sang in expansive jazz acts with avant-guys like Elliot Levin. But the woman I spoke to from the Hollywood set of American Idol early this year (Schiff was a contestant) has her debut album "In the Blonde" ready with a gig at Legendary Dobbs April 30."
---A. D. Amorosi, City Paper (Philadelphia)
Specializing in harmonies, vocal doubles/triples, a rich, velvety mid range, Erika has the tone and edge in her vocals to deliver a modern vocal track. She is the perfect fit for pop, soul, blues, jazz, dance, adult contemporary and more.
(Most comfortable range: C3- G5, Mezzo-Soprano)
As a Philly native, Erika earned her cred early on at 11 years old when she began singing pro in a 50‘s pop acapella quartet, followed by writing her own music and performing at Philly staple venues. She became one of the most sought after commercial pop singers in the city. Her voice can be heard on hundreds of commercials and television shows. She currently resides in LA.

Erika's voice is absolutely stunning and she was such a pleasure to work with. She's incredibly versatile and can deliver whatever direction you ask of her. In the event you don't know what direction you want, she has so many awesome creative ideas where she truly takes your song to the next level. I absolutely recommend Erika.
Erika is the harmony queen! She delivers more than what you're asking and is a real pleasure to work with. I've worked on a couple of projects with her and she fully understands direction and feedback. Plus, she always adds something unique to every song. This was a wonderful experience.
Erika is a real professional singer ! She perfectly knows how to make a perfect vocal part, with harmonies etc.
The quality is really high, her voice is really in tune.
I hope to work with her again in the future.
last but not least she is also really funny :)

Couldn't be happier! Professional, on time, communicated very well and her voice is AMAZING! Will certainly be working with her again!
This is the second song I worked with Erika on and once again she delivered in spades!!
Always easy. Always smooth.
Most importantly though. ..stellar vocals!
Erika's the real deal. She takes instruction very well, she's organized and she's prompt. But best of all, she's a terrific singer able to morph into a plethora of various stylings, fitting into virtually any musical situation. I can't recommend her enough!
Working with Erika was an extreme pleasure. She is a tremendous individual and a tremendous talent. She took my limited knowledge of things musical and expanded it greatly. She was very good about modifying things within reason and did it brilliantly. The song she did for me was to honor my wife who died of cancer at 50 it was AWESOME!
Erika was hired to resing a song I had recorded vocals on myself.
This was a very difficult task, because I was deeply connected to the track emotionally and musically.
What she sent back was masterful and beyond my expectations (which was high).
She is super pro on all levels and I can't wait to send her more of my music to sing on!
Erika was a pleasure to work with! Very professional, creative and prompt. Will definitely look forward to working with Erika again!
Erika is an excellent vocalist, very easy to work with, and very professional. She knew just what to do instinctively. I would definitely use Erika again.

Erika has a powerful, sexy voice, great pitch control and a professional presence. A great pick for singer/songwriter.
Erika has an extremely commercial sound and is extraordinarily creative. She went beyond the call of duty on my projects with performances that didn't just add sounds to my songs, but character. She's also FAST. Terrific person to partner with!
Working with Erika was a great experience. She has an amazing voice, professional work ethic, ideas to strengthen the song, and she communicates quickly, clearly, and effectively. She is fun to work with and delivers a great performance at a great price in just a few days time! I will definitely be working with her again in the future.
You're not just looking for the standard "can get the job done as per description" blah di blah. You're looking for a partner!
Erika turns the boring ol client/provider relationship into an exciting collaboration between musicians.
A lovely experience with this bundle of fun and energy. Trust me....The force is strong with this one ;)
Erika is a consummate professional on stage and of. Her live skills chops are top notch and in the studio she on point with whatever genre is on the agenda of the day. I am proud to work with her anytime because she's always right there with a smile whenever called upon. Keep up the great work Erika...
Erika is amazing! She over delivers and has great instincts, with little guidance. If you are looking for a singer who will go over and above to make your song better, she is the one. And oooh those fantastic harmonies!! I can't wait to work with such a professional again.
Interview with Erika Schiff
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1. ipod 2. head phones 3. microphone 4. keyboard/piano 5. laptop and after some SERIOUS bribing of the gods to get #6... 6. speakers
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Audio Technica AT 4050, Pro Tools. I have a home studio and easy access to high end studios.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Current pipeline: original music, radio jingle remixes and a radio ID
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Both have great qualities. I am not a purist of any kind.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will only send you work that I honestly feel is good enough.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's always different.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Question: How much? Answer: We need to figure out exactly what you want :P OR Question: Will you sing my funny lyrics? Answer: Absolutely :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it doesn't take hours and hours of detailed attention and work. That it's always fun.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is the usage? Demographic? Style or example of something similar? How elaborate do you want to get, something simple or something more involved?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be realistic and open to all possibilities! Try to have a clear idea of the vibe you want and don't expect anyone to deliver exactly what you may hear in your head. Let the pros do what you hired them to do :) Also understand that good quality will never be the cheapest but do it right the first time and you will end up spending less and having something you can be proud of.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Always music and art. I was a fine art major in college and was always involved in the arts from childhood. Started as a dancer at age of two, never stopped going. Was in my first original band in ninth grade, got more involved in illustration in high school. Of all the creative fields, music was always my greatest love. Truthfully, I feel incomplete without any of them and enjoy creating in general.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: An original song I co-wrote and just completed with Sharon Little. The song has not yet been released but every time I've listened to it I cry.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jeff Lynne because he is my god, and seems genuinely cool...and Bruno Mars because I he is a killer songwriter.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: keep it simple and get it done.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Being too hard on myself :P For real, my commercial sound and comping vocals.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A pretty sound, sultry sexiness. An original point of view. Unique yet catchy chord progressions and melodies. Clever, yet applicable lyrics. I'm a work horse and I enjoy when clients are super happy :)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jon Brion for his originality and dark undertones. ELO because Jeff Lynne has amazing melodies that are super catchy with a tinge of beautiful sadness, plus he is an incredible arranger. Trent Reznor b/c he is truly original yet universal.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Singing, harmonies, vocal arranging, tuning, writing music, writing melodies, recording, tweaking your lyrics, writing lyrics, producing, Radio ID's, jingles, song writing collaborations, video editing, sourcing our other performers for your project, performing live.
