I have over a decade of experience in recording & writing. I write for my own catalog and for other artists. I'm a two-time finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition, my album "Gates" was featured in the 2016 WWDC Apple Keynote for the new Apple Music launch, I've completed the BMI SongArts Academy. I'm signed to a boutique label in LA.

My strongest suit is RnB/ Pop with nostalgic sensibility. From start to finish, I believe a song has to build emotion and be full of tasteful ear candy & infectious moments. I think a powerful song makes you feel emotions you didn't know you had and keeps you pressing repeat over and over.

When writing Toplines, I will send 2-3 options for melodies, you can chose which suits your project the best. I will deliver the final track based on the strongest melody. My turn around for toplines is 3 days.

When writing Lyrics I will ask a few questions about what type of song you would like (key emotions, genre etc.) and will send a final draft for you to approve. I will do two revisions -- my turn around for lyrics is 3 days.

I would love to help you with your project and bring the magic to your music! Let's get started!

Had a great songwriting lesson with Mariami. Learned an incredible amount in such a short period of time and she's one of the best songwriters on Soundbetter. She gave me a great amount of confidence and helped me get rid of a lot of self doubt when it comes to writing.

Iamari has a truly unique writing voice and instantly brings fresh inspiration to all of her projects. A fiercely hard worker, Iamari also has the level of professionalism and follow-through necessary in a studio environment, and her ability to arrange vocals quickly proves as an added bonus. Plus, she's a great person!

Interview with Mariami

What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
That greatness happens overnight. A healthy career in music takes years of craftsmanship, discipline, technique, practice, study, falling, getting back up and constantly keeping your sound fresh and ahead of the pulse.
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
Sade. She exemplifies how less is so much more. She's subtle, hip, timeless + iconic.
How would you describe your style?
Nostalgic + Urban w/ Pop sensibility.
Can you share one music production tip?
Stand out of your way. Let your instincts guide you and turn off your inner monologue. Don't censor your creativity. Also, less is more.
