"Into the Music" was great to work with! Just an absolute pleasure...he handed me everything I needed right away, with a clear vision of what he wanted..and was great at messaging back in a timely manner--despite our time difference. I also loved his track, and he is a very good writer and producer...I would definitely work with him again, and would highly recommend!

Interview with Emil Högberg | ay-Mill
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being able to create and explore new vibes and emotions is incredible — it's truly the best part of what I do.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headphones, midi-keyboard is all that I need.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 10 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: There's a strong focus on vocals and creating a vibe that truly resonates with people. I always like to add an organic touch using live instruments like guitar, saxophone, or whatever fits the mood.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are so many.. Junie, Koda, Klaudy, LIAMOO, Rasmus Hagen, ORKID, Ellen Krauss.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Great music needs contrast — and there are so many ways to achieve it. For example, you can add or remove frequencies, swap out instruments, or change the rhythm from long notes to shorter, faster ones. The possibilities are endless!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Deep House, Chill House, Dance Pop, Indie Pop, Electro Rock, Afrobeats.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Exploring experimental production ideas to achieve fresh and unique sounds.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always aim to enhance what's already there to bring out the best in the track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For mixing and mastering, I start by organizing all the stems so I know what each element is and how everything sounds both together and in solo. I make extensive use of color coding and track grouping to keep the session efficient and clear. Once everything is set up, I listen to the song while also considering the artist’s vision for the track. The first step is always leveling — you can get surprisingly far just by setting the volumes right. From there, I focus mainly on EQ and compression. I typically avoid making creative changes unless the client specifically asks for them. I also use a reference track to lock in the right vibe and energy. Once the mix is done, I send a few revisions back and forth until we're both happy with the final result.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: MSI Gaming Laptop, M-Audio M-Track 2x2M Interface, Arturia Keylab Essential 49 Keys, FL Studio & BeyerDynamic DT 900 Pro X.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Drove, Forester, Honey, Patrick Lite, Lonely In The Rain.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Primarily mixing and mastering, with occasional production work.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm always working on new and exciting projects, both for artists and for my sync catalogue.
