El Rosa on SoundBetter

I'm a professional music producer, mix engineer and session guitarist based in Santiago, Chile.

I considered my self an audiophile and music geek always aiming to get new sounds and rhythms. My main goal is getting the most creative music and mixes as I can. I always care about the artist message and its influences as the main line of work. Love the audio design.

  20. A: Music Production and mix

  21. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  22. A: Speaking about recording guitars...It's complicated. Analog, is may be the best sound for me, but there is so much acoustic treatment, accessories and equipment demands that digital doesn't need and it helps you in a good way with almost the same result. Nowadays digital has nice amps that you only need an amp head direct to your interface and that's it.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: It is home studio with all necessary equipment for tracking guitars. It have a few mic's like Neumann TLM102 for acoustics and a Shure SM57 for electric guitars, a bunch of pedals, a Fender amp and guitars (Telecaster, Stratocaster and my Taylor acoustic guitar)

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: First of all I ask to the client what's the purpose of the song and what does he or she want for guitars. Then I track some ideas and giving them different options to choose.
