I specialize in Adult Contemporary that features a hybrid of electronic synthesis and acoustic accompaniment. I enjoy working with pop vocals that I manually tune in Melodyne. I believe spectacular mixes are derived from intentionality- with even the most granular details. I also believe the best mixes enhance the emotional, storytelling components of the song through said details. Acts of service is my love language and servant leadership is my fulfillment even as a creative professional in this field.

I have no remarkable credits to offer yet as I'm merely three years into the game of creating competitive sound. I have, however, had the opportunity to learn directly from a plethora of music industry professionals across genres through Icon Collective and Grammy U. Apart from this, many of my skills have been self-reinforced through practical application of lessons from hundreds of online tutorials that have all contributed valuable nuance to my creative and technical processes.

Full productions are charged more to cover the cost of musicians I have the pleasure of working with. Organic instrumentation is the secret ingredient of a compelling piece and it is my joy to showcase quality performance.

Interview with Silvrntz

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My wife and I are revisiting some lyrics to a lullaby I wrote for our newborn son. I'd say it's about 70% there.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes. Michelle Rescigno is an incredible songwriter and vocalist. I had the pleasure of working with her on one of my first tracks published to streaming and I would 1000% go back.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I found that people who started with analog back in the days when there was no choice seem to love the utility and convenience that digital provides. I've also found that bedroom producers who started digital seem to believe in an esoteric quality of analog but can't always attribute it to anything concrete. Having corresponded with professional engineers like Vlado Meller who's been mastering since the days of cutting vinyl, I can personally attest that he uses an all digital mastering system but offers to emulate analog quality digitally which speaks volumes. My last track, Love Is Hell, happened to be analog mastered by my friends at Punching Dolphins but this was more for the purpose of experimenting with the sound of their custom analog hardware than for the "magic" of analog.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Besides routine admin such as timeframes, deadlines, references, etc, I'd ask prospective clients what they love about their project so far as to preserve those aspects from the start. I'd also ask how open they'd be to my input as a producer in case I catch something that I think could be improved upon.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Ultimately, I want to sync license music for advertising. As stated above, I've been producing music digitally for three years and counting.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Smooth. I like things like longer reverb tails and transitionary elements.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I'd say to use tools like Levels by Mastering The Mix and Tonal Balance Control by iZotope to empirically compare your mix to a reference track. Ear fatigue can definitely interfere with the ability to compare mixes by hearing alone.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Adult Contemporary.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am not ego-invested in my work. Yes, I believe my work is a reflection of my skill and effort but I embrace constructive feedback and criticism.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I work with fellow SoundBetter songwriters and musicians to bring the best of all musical worlds together for each and every project. My wife, for one, is an advanced violinist who has played for two seasons as Concert Master for the UNLV Symphony Orchestra and for one season as First Violin, Sixth Chair for the Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: When it comes to songwriting, David Foster is one of my all-time favorites. His complex chord progressions and iconic lyrics are an absolute gold standard. For vocal production, I admire the attention to detail Matthew Steeper puts into his work. He also uses Melodyne and takes the time to produce a lot of manual automation in the tracks he works on. When it comes to mixing, I'm very impressed by the workflow of Tom Elmhirst who mixed Rolling In The Deep by Adele on an analog console. See for yourself on Mix With The Masters. For mastering, I'm learning more and more every day from Ian Shepherd who is a revered expert in the field and has given me a true appreciation for micro-dynamics.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I collaborate with songwriters and musicians to provide admirable aspects to every part of a production.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Ableton Live is my DAW, and I produce on a MacBook Pro with a Apollo Twin interface. I work in ground-up sound treated studios complete with Sonarworks Sound ID's for a nearly perfect mixing palette.
