Responsability, good audio and commitment to music.

Hi! I'm Lea Hart, argentinian bass player based in Berlin since 2021. My strengths are responsibility, human quality and commitment to music. My work currently focuses on live performances, studio and online recordings and electric bass lessons, generally focused on Tango bass technique.
My current projects are duo Blind Spot (Ambients, Rock, Jazz), Dakil Berlin Fiends (Indie, Pop), Vassel & Rooby (Pop) and El Club Kollektiv (Jazz). Throughout my career I have played in different genres: Traditional Tango, Electronic Tango, Pop, Funk, Jazz and Latin Music (Argentine Folk, Candombe, Salsa, Boleros, Bossa Nova, Reggae).
As for my training, I am currently studying at the Paul Hindemith School of Jazz Music (Berlin, Germany), I have studied in different music schools and Universities in Argentina, I have also acquired a lot of knowledge through self-taught and private lessons.
I have been playing bass guitar and recording professionally for more than 20 years.
My work as a bass player is mainly playing live, which has given me a good experience in quick problem solving, dealing with people and good handling of audio on stage.

Lea plays in the ensemble that performs my compositions. I really like how he plays, and he was also recording for the next album of my music. His interpretation is excellent... Very professional.

about my own experience working with Lea. We recorded bass for 4 songs. Working with him is very enjoyable and professional. The most beautiful thing is that he is open to change and accepts new styles and genres of music. We recorded songs from my own project, and Leandro’s presence there added to the music and musical character. The cooperation was very nice, fast, and professional. It is possible to change anything that was recorded in the studio, as it suits the person's music, and this is a beautiful and convenient thing. As for the service, it is wonderful. We will work together again.

leandro is a creative, responsible, studious and careful professional in each of the proposed projects. I had the opportunity to record an album with him and he proved to be a great bass player, providing harmonic resources and articulating performance techniques from other musical genres. He is a versatile musician who brings a very particular musical meaning to each project. Leandro Diaz is a very committed session musician. Communication with him is easy and agile, which facilitates the execution of the instructions to follow regarding the different topics to be addressed.
It has ductility, which helps to handle several styles in the same project, always depending on the song.
He is a punctual, organized, respectful musician and they are very well equipped to achieve very good quality audio.

Interview with Lea Hart

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: In my studio work with a Focusrite 2i4 audio interface, Adam Audio monitors, Rode and Shure microphones (if miking is necessary, in this case I use a Fender Rumble amp). As a preamp for my bass, I use an Avalon U5 preamp and Aguilar Tone Hammer. My basses are Fender Am Std JAZZ BASS and a P Bass, which provide a very good quality sound.

  3. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  4. A: I create and record basslines.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: my style is "fingerstyle bass" with South American folk influences.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I would like to work with artists committed to music and who transmit emotions with it. That that essence is not lost in the productions and that they help me to learn through their music.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: In recent years I have worked in electronic Tango and Argentine Folk Music, but beyond the genres I like to contribute "my touch" to different types of music, giving it a different character to what is usually heard as "normal". I consider that I can contribute a distinctive sound beyond genre.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I work in electronic Tango, traditional tango, Argentine Folk Music, Funk Music, Latin fusion music, rock, reggae, but beyond the genres I like to contribute "my touch" to the different musics, giving it a different character to what is usually hear.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: Bass fingerstyle with "groove"

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I contribute what is necessary to sustain the harmony, give body to the bases and make the melodic instruments and voices shine.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: I analyze the song for harmony and melody and search for the bass line that is needed. I try various ideas until I reach the final bassline. When it's ready, I re-record in one take so that it has more "groove"

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: I am inspired by the bassists Abraham Laboriel, Paul Turner, Pino Paladino and the Argentine bassist and teacher Andres Rotmistrovsky

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: That you choose for the commitment of the person, the recommendations of the artists with whom he worked and for the good audio. Obviously try working with me, you will not regret it.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Fender P Bass, Audio Interface, Mac, Headphones and some good sunglasses.

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I have played bass for 20 years. My work as a bass player was mainly to play live, which gave me an experience in quick problem solving, which I have applied in recording studios. I have played in different projects of various genres (Tango, Electronic Tango, Rock, Funk, Uruguayan Candombe, Argentine Folklore, Bossanova), in the South and Central Argentina. In 2018 I made a tour of Europe (Portugal, Spain, Greece and Macedonia) playing Tango and Argentine Folklore, performing at international festivals. Since 2021 I live in Berlin and have already toured Germany with the band Blind Spot, played at summer festivals in Germany with Barbie Williams, played in different clubs in Berlin with Mate RAiz (Folk and Tango) and with Vassel and Rooby (Pop music).
