Ken did a superb job editing the vocal track for my cover of Wichita Lineman. I have lots of instruments on my tune, and key to making my arrangement work is having a great lead vocal track, which I now have (thanks to Ken!). His resume speaks for itself. He has the experience, technical ability, and musical sensibilities to take a raw vocal track and make it sound better but still sound natural. Ken and I communicated well with each other & he delivered his work on time. I highly recommend him!

Ken is the total package. I'm so glad I decided to go with him to mix my next single. He really went the extra mile giving me some great suggestions to re sing some sections of the song. He then went on to comp and tune my vocals. He finished everything off by delivering an awesome mix that I was very happy with. He took my suggestions in stride and kept great communication throughout. Very professional and delivered all services in a timely manner. Very highly recommended.

Interview with Ken Hutton
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Scary Pockets, Louis Cole, Snarky Puppy, and the Metropole Orkestra.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Artist development in Germany as producer / engineer.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Some people have the misconception that perfection is the goal. Over-tuning, over-processing, and over-mixing tend to make sterile sounding products. Editing and mixing should always allow for natural feel and flow. We want the technology to enhance the humanity, not oppress it.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 20+ years. Started assisting in Nashville at Sound Emporium, worked up to being in high demand, got burned out from too many hours, took a break to regroup, started working in sound therapy and Neurotherapy, found my love for music again, then began doing artist development for unsigned talent, which I find very rewarding.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Getting behind an artist's vision and facilitating their success.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: a Neo-soul / smooth jazz project with a great young singer.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I was trained as an orchestral trumpet player, then got deep into Nashville singer / songwriter projects. I make sure that everything I do is strong technically, but the ultimate goal is to respect, preserve, enhance, and never lose sight of the most important aspect; musicality.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: vocal-centric music across many genres
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Musicality
