Creative percussion recordings for songs, music productions & sample libraries
Hello all,
I specialize in two main things:
--- Recordings for music productions ---
• Multitrack percussion for your production / song.
• Creative percussion ideas recorded to offer your music a fresh vibe.
• Edited perfectly so you can easily cut, mute and re-arrange.
--- Sampling work ---
• Sample libraries, sample packs and virtual instruments.
• Loops, one-shots, sound design and file editing.
• Highly-detailed sampling and big projects.
• Clean and fast work, with uncompromising quality.
• Experience: worked and released on Splice, LANDR, Soundtrap, Artlist and Noiiz.
I offer creative percussion recordings for supporting simple and complex projects. After researching around the world, gathering sounds and rhythm philosophies from different cultures, I developed the sensitivity to feel and map the inner groove of a track. With vast experience in recording for creators of different genres, I mostly record for producers who need to blend the traditional drums and percussion sounds with modern and up-to-date productions like EDM, Hip Hop, Pop, Funk, House, Jazz, and Afrobeat.

Interview with Ben Aylon
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creative sounds and percussion recordings, both complex and simple, and always meeting deadlines.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Gear: Motu 8M, Stam Audio 1073 Stereo Preamp, Roland Space Echo RE-201 Mics: AKG 414, Shure 57Beta, Shure 58, Unknown ribbon mic, Blue Baby Bottle. Percussion: Senegalese Drums: Thiol, Mbeng Mbeng, Talmbat, Nder, Calabash. Guinean Drums: Djembe, Sagbang, Kinkini, Doundounba. Brazilian Drums: Alfaia, Pandeiro, Tamborim, Caxixi. Indian Drums: Nagara, Nagari, Dholak, Kanjira. Afro-Cuban Drums: Okonkolo. Other: Homemade Shakers, Bells, Chimes and many more crisps.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Im inspired by African drumming which contains the secrets for multi layered thinking and playing. This is the most important element in percussion playing, the art of layering and understanding of how each part can effect the flow and feel of a tune.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Percussion sampling for sample libraries, virtual instruments, loops and one-shots for sample packs in a vast variety of genres (including sound design, editing and mixing). Creative percussion recordings for songs and music productions.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Super professional work. Clean, fast and highly creative.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People mostly look for the conga sound but African drums or other unique sounding percussion can be used in popular music as well. It's not about the name of the drums, but the vibe and tone you get out of it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Universal sounds and grooves
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I create the flow and atmosphere needed to make it real
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to the music for a few times, getting the feel and vibe of it and then I start adding layers of percussion. First I create a solid version that fully supports the music and then I expand for more artistic and creative ideas.
