Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Harmonic Humanity is a powerful movement to end homelessness. We made a song that will be featured on their next project alongside acts like Maroon 5 and Jason Mraz. I'm proud of it because everyone who hears the song we made is moved into action to help the cause.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I actually get to use the studios that I teach out of. Great listening environment for mixing. I have Ableton Live, Logic X and a host of plug-ins
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Michael Jackson was always my favorite. Nowadays, I'm a big fan of Drake, Post Malone, and the Weeknd
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Apollo, UA 6176, Bock 251 mic, CL1B, All of UA's plug-ins (I know that's not gear, but come on... it's 2018)
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Sonic clarity and the ability to achieve any sound quickly, effectively and efficiently
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My partner and I are really good at doing tailored work. Harmonic humanity requested something really specific from us and we were able to deliver exactly what they were asking for in 2 days. All of the music, lyrics and vocals made specifically for their cause.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: A conversation to get clear on what is needed. We choose reference tracks so that we are all on the same page sonically. I'll create 2-3 sketches in the specific direction that we decided on and you can choose which one you would like me to complete. After that, I'll send the song to you to listen to

A: A tv show for netflix, songs for film and commercials as well as my group L8Blümer

Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. you can recall it and save settings. At the end of the day, it's about getting the job done and today's consumers are starting to lean towards the digital sound anyways.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that I will be honest with you about where your project is and where I can take it. you will always get something that surpasses your expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love that I get to learn from each person that I interact with. The more unique an artist is, the more interesting their methods are.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you make it sound like [insert a song in a completely different genre]? I usually don't take on clients that aren't in love with the songs they are currently making. I tell them that it's my job to make the art shine, not make it work if it doesn't.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: There's no magic plug-in that "mixes" the sound. It's just me picking apart what's there and solving everything one blemish at a time. The further you are away from where you wanna be, the more problem solving I have to do. Pick the right sounds and I can spend more time doing awesome stuff rather than "fixing"

A: Why did you get into music? What lights you up about it?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Your next breakthrough is behind the door you're most afraid to open. The clients that are most happy with my services are the ones that allow me to push them slightly out of their comfort zones.

A: been doing this 15 years. Building a team that can pump out 5 amazing songs a day.

A: My music sounds like skrillex making love to rhianna on the back of a Tron Motorcycle.

A: Work from the inside out. Build your song the way you would build a house. You don't start with paint, you start with the parts no one is going to see.
