We are a multi-faceted production team with 35 years of experience specializing in high end deliverables in electronic music production, performance, or remix services. Our music has been used in several global TV commercials with Toyota, Nike, and Scion, in addition to chart placements in Muzik Magazine.

Dirty Sole is an indie electronic group, with many features on popular outlets such as LessThan3, Hype Machine, Northern Transmissions, Enter The Venture, Jammerzine, HighClouds, WhyCauseICan, Rbeatz, Noiseprn and many others including a nomination for single of the month in The Deli Magazine in Chicago.

We specialize in custom electronic music production, with a 35 year background in keyboards, guitar, and bass. Our genre of focus is "electronic" and have collaborated with many artists, including Lyrics Born, The Juan Maclean, Jon Von Letscher (Honey Claws), Denny White, and more.

Aside from commercial television, our music has also been licensed to extensive global consumer networks providing overhead music for various retail locations, such as supermarkets, shopping malls, gyms and spas. This network spans over 425 + brands, 110,000 locations, 125 countries and touches 100 million people everyday.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Fun fact = aside from studio production, one of us was the main audio engineer for the Dr. Phil show for several years. Another fun fact = during a festival performance, our stage was next to the main stage, featuring none other than Ray Charles, who asked that we be turned down, lol! You got the right one baby! XO

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: Dirty Sole had an experienced past before joining forces in 2001. We both came from a strong musical background, including keyboards, drums, guitar, and bass. Prior to teaming up, we worked as club DJs, record store pros, and record label gurus

  22. A: A delivery that's "dirty, yet soulful" :)

  24. A: 1. Prince (RIP) - one of the greatest of all time 2. FKJ, Sam Smith, Daft Punk, Flume

  26. A: Less is more!

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Aside from being studio musicians, our main genre is electronic dance music.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Our strongest skill is attention to detail! We pride our work on making sure every small nuance is perfect.

  32. A: We bring a variety of elements to our production including the perfect blend of live and programmed performances, which has long been our signature sound.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: After the production phase, we export to our mix engineer in Los Angeles at Studio City Sound. Final mixing is done in Studio A on their Neve 8068 MK II using ATC SCM45A monitors.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: We have two studio locations in Chicago. Both rigs are running Ableton Live 10, with a vast amount outboard gear, including: Nord Lead 2, Roland Juno Di, Moog Little Phatty, Roland TB3, Roland Juno 106, Roland TR08, Roland TR09, electric guitars, bass guitars, and acoustic guitars. We mix on Mackie mixing boards and use KRK Rokit monitors.
