Galestian is a seriously top-notch artist. He is super professional and thorough, and has a clear vision for his artistry. I really enjoyed working with him, he is the great combination of super talented, great communicator, and great music with wonderful intentions. Very dope collaborator and I would absolutely work with him again. Thanks, G!
Fantastic to work with. We've collaborated on numerous mixing projects throughout the years, and I've consistently appreciated his patience and expertise. Each time, I gain new insights, and he consistently enhances the sound of our releases. Grateful for your work, sir!
Interview with Galestian Music
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My first release on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Black imprint called "Rituals" was the first record I signed to his label. This record was done entirely on a mobile studio setup while I was traveling through Asia. My remix with RIAA Platinum-certified artist VASSY (who worked with Tiesto and KSHMR on their track "Secrets") is an EDM production that received the most amount of success on a big-scale and I'm especially proud of that. My record with Mira J called "Tell Me" was the first original vocal tune to chart incredibly well for months on Beatport, with the timeless remix by Argentina's Ezequiel Arias. We garnered support by progressive house legends such as Way Out West, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, and many others.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: If you have 2-3 links of your favorite songs to share for reference, it makes it much easier to understand what you're looking for. More details = better understanding! I also offer 1 free Skype consultation before we begin working on your project.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Deep and progressive house, melodic techno with influences from early trance.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Deep house, progressive house, progressive trance, melodic house and techno.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work is producing, mixing, and mastering electronic music with a niche specialty in genres such as deep house, progressive house, progressive trance, and melodic house & techno. I have lots of experience producing within other genres such as EDM, dubstep, and commercial dance, as well.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I've worked like mad and taken many risks to get here. I love that I can work on my own schedule with clients that I enjoy working with.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in studios located in Berlin and Los Angeles. Full production suites!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Matt Lange, Martin Roth, Rodriguez Jr, Stephan Bodzin, Eric Prydz, Cristoph
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 15+ years in LA broadcast and digital media, 20 years as a DJ/producer. Grateful to have toured the world for the last 4-5 years of my life.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Martin Roth – we share a similar path with our roots in trance to modern-day techno and progressive.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Reference your tunes constantly! A/B your tracks so you stay on course with a balanced mix.
