The songbuilders are simply incredible! They mixed the song to a whole new level. There was no ego at all, what surprised me the most. Very professional, amazing result and they fixed everything I was asking for, which needs a lot of patience I guess :) I recommend them!

I spent an entire year writing and recording a full length album in my off time from a full time job. I wanted to create something which I was proud of. Luckily I found these great musicians and amazing guys, Steve and Nate. From pre-production to final mixing and master, it was a pleasure working with them. Thank you Steve and Nate. 10/10
Collaborated with Steve both remotely and in the studio. He’s awesome to work with. Good ideas, good people!
I had a great experience tracking guitars for SongBuilders. Quick, personable, and professional! Would work with them again anytime!
I highly recommend SongBuilders for anyone who is serious about creating high-quality music. Steve and Nate are incredibly talented musicians and producers who will work with you every step of the way to make sure your songs end up being everything you could imagine and more.
Interview with Stephen Joseph Antonelli
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We run the gamut but mostly Pop. Normally it's singer/songwriters and bands wanting a fresh sound. Musically it's anything from EDM to Rock to R&B.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening and doing what's best for the song. We thinks that's a dying art. Everyone wants a track to be like something else they heard on the radio. I feel like listening to the raw melody/lyrics is what makes the song exclusively their own.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: We bring years of experience songwriting and producing songs. We understand that our clients want something that will keep them relevant while at the same time stays true to their sound and style. We can do that.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If it's a SongBuilder job (a song we produce from start to finish) it's like this: 1) We'll have an initial meeting with our client to get a feel for the song 2) We start the skeleton of the track (tempo, rhythm, feel, sounds, basic structure, 3) Nate and I go to work and really dive into production composing and arranging 4) Next is a detailed vocal session/BGV session with the artist or demo singer 5) Then we do a comping and editing session to make sure all the best takes are in and edited properly. 6) Last is mixing which included sending mixes back and forth to the client for approval. Once approved... 7) Mastering!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have a very chill and relaxed studio with two tracking rooms, two control rooms a large lounge area. High quality gear from Telefunken to Universal Audio to RME. Tons of plugin. Several cool guitars from Fender and Martin. A 1968 set of Ludwigs! We are a full-service studio so we have what you need but we're also always growing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Oh man, we're inspired by so many artists and music production artists. Some that come to mind are Beck, Buddy Miller, Daniel Lanois, D'Angelo, Periphery, Vance Powell, The Punch Brothers, The Roots, Timberland......too many people to mention!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Primarily we are producers so we are working with singer/songwriters and bands on songs from the ground up starting with pre-production then onto writing, recording then mixing and mastering. We build songs!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't use your eyes! Listen, listen, listen...
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you plan on doing with this song/project after it's done. We want to work with artists who have a solid plan for their songs.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you like the producers work, make sure the producer is respectful to you as an artist and once you decide to use him/her listen to their advise with an open mind before you agree or disagree. Ultimately this is your project, you want to be happy and the producer can help make that happen.
