I’m Benny Charles located in the California Bay Area. I have over 30 years experience in Mixing, Mastering, Production, Sound Design, and turntablist. I’ve worked with some of the industry's top talents and grammy award-winning performers. I specialize in urban and contemporary neo-soul, hip-hop, neo-gospel, R&B, pop, and EDM genres.
I specialize in making beats with an East Coast / New York sound. All of my beats are heavily influenced by the sound of the birthplace of Hip Hop and include styles ranging from the boom bap tracks of the 90's, to the club tracks of the 2000's, and to the present day BK Drill stage.
After competing on Season 12 of The Voice and touring the country with my music, I became a producer and songwriter to bring my songs to the next level. Along the way I was mentored for years by Ian Kirkpatrick (Prod Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber) and Jon Leone (Prod Shakira, Maluma, Jennifer Lopez).
I'm a classically trained, experienced session harpist in a range of genres from jazz to hip-hop, rock & electronic. I'm comfortably with improvisation, reading charts/scores or working from ear and creating new arrangements and harp parts for your music.
