Gary Philips is a session guitar player, producer, songwriter and mix engineer -- and often all of these at the same time. His Wild Honey Studio is located in Greenwich Village, New York City, just off the legendary Bleeker Street.
Previous clientele include: Fat Joe, Mothica, Frawley, Matisyahu, Baby Fuzz, and MTV Independent songwriter and producer, contracted to work with various major record labels such as Warner Music Group, Universal, Sony, and many others. I have also composed original music for various national TV networks such as MTV, VH1, Discovery, Oxygen.
I'm a producer, composer, arranger, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist with a dark/indie/cinematic aesthetic. Having also worked in film, I like to create music that is surprising, off-kilter, rich with sound design, unsuspecting structures and unique harmonies. I've played the drums and piano since I was a kid both of which inform everything I do!
