I'm a bass player, arranger and composer currently living in London. During my career I have; played support slots for The Hoosiers, The Doobie Brothers, recorded at Metropolis Studios, performed with musicians such as Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Marc Russo (Tower of Power), Marin Alsop, Chuck Sabo (Elton John), Lara Johnston and Ana Free.

I take my inspiration from the sound of the 70s and modern alt rnb. I love music that is a collage: where two disparate parts just touch one another in the sonic-scape. I philosophize music just as much as I make it, and always set limitations for myself to work within. I produce and mix music because I love to exercise creative problem solving.

Alex Merrill is a funk session/touring keys player whose played with the likes of Baby Jake, Riley Clemmons, Aveva, Morgan Myles and even, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, of Steely Dan/Doobie Brothers acclaim.
