I've been doing studio work since I was a kid, and I was lucky to get to learn from some very talented and knowledgeable musicians in Northern & Southern California, and Seattle. I have always worked harder than most other guys I knew. Heavily focused on playing for the song, rhythmically, melodically, the atmosphere, vibe, tone, attitude, etc.
A big warm trumpet or mellow flugelhorn sound and catchy melodies is what I'm going for. From velvet whispering sounds to tough loud screams, but always in service to the music. An improvised solo part or tight horns section arrangement. What is else is possible?
