My mixing philosophy is to be invisible. My priority is to help the artist achieve their vision, ignoring the need to put a personal stamp on the mix or attempt to make it my own. To that end, I am flexible in the methods I employ and will always defer to the tastes of the artist by understanding what's important to them in a mix.
Ira Larwence inherited a haunted electric mandolin from his estranged grandmother and started a self-recorded journey into mystical folk music.
I am a Mastering Engineer based out of Houston TX. I have 20 years of experience in the field. My career started at SugarHill Recording Studios- wearing many hats from intern to Chief Staff Engineer, to Mastering Engineer. I also trained under Dave McNair (formerly of Sterling Sound / Masterdisk) learning techniques for vinyl production.

When people come to me about my music, they are looking for a jazz flavor. I have synthesized music from all genres but the overarching feel is Jazz. When it comes to composing films, I approach it very much like a jazz performance. Whereby the elements such as improvisation, complex harmony, and the blues are fully present and realized throughout.
