Chris has always been extremely professional and such an amazingly talented person to work with. He has a great ear and makes top notch work! I would recommend him to anyone in the industry. Very driven, trustworthy, and dedicated. I can't wait to work with him again!! 🙂🙂 If there were more stars, I'd give him more!
I’ve worked with Chris on some songwriting projects as well as for my own work as a recording artist and I can honestly say he’s one of the most talented producers I’ve worked with. When it comes to songwriting to tracks of his he always knows how to spin the tracks into the direction of the songwriter. In record timing too. For my own music, I sent old demos and said what kind of artist I’m striving to be in terms of what sonic lane I’m going to be in and within a week he nailed the reproduction of the 6 songs sent to him. All radio friendly. Chris will get you where you musically need to go.
Best producer I know. He works harder than most and it shows through his work. Chris knows what he’s doing and values the art and craft. 100% recommend working with him. His songs are authentic and extremely professional.
Working on projects with Chris Doss is always a delight. When in search for the perfect sounds, samples, melodies, harmonies, or even when I’m looking for that perfect lyric that fits, Chris always has more than enough suggestions and advice to get the sound that I’m going for. He’s patient, understanding, and knows how to collaborate with almost any kind of musician. Can’t wait to see what the future holds. Thanks Chris for the tunes!
Chris really knew how to make my vocals sound amazing. From producing to writing, this guy has every tool in the shed!!! Ive worked with Chris numerous times and the great thing was bringing in a rough demo and leaving with a song I was happy with sonically and he really helped me take my vocals to a new place. He's your guy hands down!
Chris is a treasure trove of skills and information. Struggling with my sound, Chris stepped in and coached me step by step with my song. Excellent feedback within the process helped save hours of time and effort. Some producers will just tell you to do a retake without directly pointing out the issues with the take. Not only has Chris provided what was wrong with the track he also had very constructive criticism. I highly recommend him.
Chris went above and beyond for my project. He was very professional, made me feel very comfortable during the recording process, and was reasonably priced. He has great experience and was able to help me achieve the sound that I wanted for my song.
Interview with Chris Doss
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I got to do a record with 2 Live Crew. I produced and helped co-write. It was an interesting experience to say the least.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently working with indie artists and expanding my catalog.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: There is a songwriter and vocalist named Brittany Lane whose artist name is LUX. I've worked with her plenty outside of this site and her skill level is top notch. https://soundbetter.com/profiles/25971-brittany-lane
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, because I know next to NOTHING about analog... Which reminds me, I should get back into that.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will deliver work to the absolute best of my ability. As long as direction is clear from the client, I will always deliver on the mark.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating. More so, being able to be a part of multiple projects across a broad spectrum of sound. Also, making my own hours is great too.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a huge fan of Max Martin as an overall producer and songwriter. My mentor Dave Pensado is my inspiration for getting to mixes to sound the very best possible.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm a producer in the oldest form of the word. I specialize in taking a project from start to finish. Whether it be an instrumental composition from scratch or fleshing out a preexisting idea. I'm also a singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist, so I'm able to top line tracks or add live instrumentation. From there I'm also a vocal producer which is my favorite aspect of the overall process. Taking the record and making it a finished product is a crucial aspect that I've spent years studying, therefore I'm able to mix and master as well.
