Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I am especially proud of the work I did on my last project. This was a big undertaking for me. I challenged myself to write and release 1 single per month for 2019. I was successful in releasing 1 song per month, even with challenges that were beyond my control. I was the executive producer, songwriter, vocal arranger, music producer for some of the songs, marketing associate, publicist, and more. I had to wear multiple hats and seamlessly make this project some together. I am most proud of that.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I am currently working on a vocal loop package through my company Voroso Entertainment. I'm so excited about this project! I am also working on a collaboration project with my longtime collaborator and music producer Ben Bada Boom.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I don't know anyone on SoundBetter that I could recommend to my clients, but I look forward to getting to know more creatives professionals.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I promise to my clients that I will deliver a product that meets and usually exceeds their expectations. I promise to have an open mind and receive their creative direction. I promise to bring my A-game to their project and produce their result within their specified timeline and sometimes sooner.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I like the fact that I can create memories and moments that people will listen to and remember and attach with special moments in their lives. I love that I can create something from literally nothing and have it hit people in different ways. I like that I learn new perspectives from creative people all around the world. I also love that I can make a living doing what I was born to do. I like that I am living in my purpose because I was born to do this!

Yes, I do write all of my songs. + Where do you record? I usually record at my home studio. + Do you sing genres other than R&B and Soul? Of course, I sing a variety of genres! I'm not stranger to Pop, Folk, Funk, House and more.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I am a believer in ownership. I started my company Voroso Media with the intention to create and own my projects, music masters, and control creative direction and expression. I have been an independent artist releasing music projects for 10 years; however, I have been performing my entire life.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: My style is soul through and through. I am connected to the sound of authentic 70s R&B, which is comprised of classic artists like Rose Royce, Deniece Williams, Patrice Rushen, Donny Hathaway. If you take the essence of Sade mixed with the soulfulness of Tweet along with the beauty of Whitney Houston's tone and the musicality of 70s-era Rose Royce, you would get me - Jae Franklin.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I would like to work with Tweet. She is one of the most versatile recording artists in the music industry and seems like a very down-to-earth person based on her reputation. She is a great storyteller and her vocal delivery is always so effortless. Her voice is inimitable. She has a grace about her which shines through in her records.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: One music production tip is to have a great audio interface when recording vocals. I have learned this over time because I have had to engineer my recording sessions. I still engineer my own recording sessions in my home studio.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I usually work on R&B and Soul music, but I'm no stranger to Pop, Folk, Funk, House and more.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is my innate ability to SING! I also have an innate ability to hear harmony, hear song keys, match the song's mood, and immediately lock in with the flow and rhythm of any song.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I always bring creativity and an open mind. I'll compliment your song with increased emotion and intensify the impact of your song. I bring the true essence of angelic soprano female vocals. I also bring my knowledge of songwriting, vocal arrangement, and music theory. I have a keen ear for harmony. I can have the innate ability to hear song keys and lock in with the flow and rhythm of any song immediately.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My typical work process is centered around: + vocal recording + songwriting I start with the melody then move to lyrics and record them immediately. I add background vocals. I finish the song with vocal arrangements. I edit the song as many times as needed and make final adjustments. I send the song to be mixed and mastered.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital is best for me because most of my work is done remotely and I travel so much. I love the sound that analog provides, but digital is my preferred method of getting work done right now.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that it doesn't involve wearing multiple hats to get work done. Singing is just a portion of everything I do for Voroso Media.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Be crystal clear with your proposal. Know your budget and expected turnaround time for your project. Be open for communication. Be nice and courteous.
