Valentein is a composer, instrumentalist, producer and creative director currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. Studying intensive classical piano and theory for over 17 years, she holds a B.A. in Music Theory & Composition from New York University with an emphasis in Music Technology.
Valentein has been fortunate enough to personally study under acclaimed Romanian conductor and composer, Dr. Dinu Ghezzo, as well as Dr. Tae Hong Park of NYU and Dr. Kay Etheridge of USD. Valentine now applies her formal background to blend the old and the new, composing film scores and tracks including indie, electronic, pop, rock, experimental, hip hop and RnB elements.
Her transition can in part be credited to veteran producer J. Chris Griffin at Engine Room Audio located in downtown Manhattan, who mentored her from 2011 through 2014. At this renowned recording studio, Valentine was able to gain invaluable experience composing, engineering, and recording while personally working with several Grammy-nominated artists.
Valentine’s original composition has been featured at The TriBeCa Film Festival, under director Sebastian Sommer, and her original scores have been recognized by the acclaimed art magazine, Marco Polo. A music video is currently in production for her original composition, “Lauren Higbie”.
Other recent collaborations include Sumner and Pool Cosby.
