GRAMMY Award-Winning, EMMY Award-Nominated recording/mixing/mastering engineer
My name is Reed Turchi, and I am a GRAMMY Award-Winning, EMMY Award-Nominated engineer/musician/producer working out of SECOND TAKE SOUND, my studio in Chelsea, NYC.
I got my start making field-recording style blues albums out of the back of my car in North Mississippi, and now run a state-of-the-art, multi-GRAMMY winning studio in the center of New York City.
It's been a wild ride, and it's been my great pleasure in life to work on and create music in many genres, styles — — from field recordings, to albums at Ardent Studios in Memphis (where I was the label director from 2012 to 2016, and produced or co-produced every album on the label) to indie albums and everything in between.
I specialize in organic sounding, groove-oriented, natural feeling albums. If you are looking for someone to delivery super-squashed mega-pop, I'm probably not your guy, but if you are looking for someone who can make a song come to life and breathe, that can create a sonic space to tell the story of your music...well, let's talk!
Whether it be stripped-down singer-songwriter style, or full-band immense instrumentation, what I love most is creating a world for the music that inspires and transcends what the artist originally imagined.
I work primarily out of the box on analog gear, and do things the old fashioned way, making music with my ears, not eyes.
