Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started in 2008 after graduating from a Music Recording Certificate program at a community college. Fell in love with the songwriting aspect of music, been creating ever since.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Adult Contemporary and Gospel
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am most proud of my first professionally released song, it was a gospel song written by me and produced by a Grammy winning producer. It was supposed to be just another track on the project but ended up being the title track.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Creating new material daily.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm not that technical so.....?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Great lyrics!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: When I hear the finished product, putting something in the universe that wasn't here before. Tears fill my eyes every time.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Do I sing? Yes I do, but should I?...no!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That lyrics don't matter anymore.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you about? What do you have to say? What do you want out of this? Do you have a budget? When can we start?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone who can listen to what you have to say and can translate that into lyrics.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Pen, paper, laptop, headphones, mic!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creative lyrics and great concepts. I am always looking for a better way to say what's already been said.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Write and record myself creating the general idea, then have a vocalist reference it if need be.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Logic X, Blue Mic and Mac Mini...used strictly for my creative process.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Stevie Wonder, Fred Hammond, The Winans, Floetry, Kanye West, Emeli Sande, Elle Varner and Diane Warren.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I write lyrics with melody.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Emeli Sande, I love her vocals and the way she tells stories in her lyrics.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Feel the story the music is telling then write your lyrics accordingly.

A: Writing lyrics.
