Interview with Luciano Squeo

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One of the projects I’m most proud of was producing and mixing a trap track for an upcoming artist. It started from a rough idea — just vocals and a reference beat. I handled the entire production process from the ground up: drums, sound selection, arrangement, mix, and mastering. The result was a modern, powerful track that matched international standards while keeping a unique personal vibe. Seeing it reach over 100K organic streams and get great feedback from other producers proved that my approach works — crafting a sound that truly represents the artist but feels ready for the industry.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: For me, it’s not a war between analog and digital — it’s all about balance. Analog brings depth, warmth, and life to the sound, while digital offers precision, speed, and flexibility. I use both: analog for character and saturation, digital for control and efficiency. It’s not about the gear — it’s about how you use it to serve the music. In short: my sound is built in digital, but it breathes like analog.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: My promise is simple: I’ll take your music to the level it deserves. I put maximum care into every project — from arrangement to final mix — to deliver a sound that’s professional, powerful, and authentic, fully shaped around your artistic identity. I never treat a track as “just another job” — every song is a story that deserves the right sound. You can expect clear communication, solid timelines, and results that speak for themselves.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: What I love most about my job is watching an idea come to life. Starting from a rough sketch or a single vocal and turning it into a full, powerful song with energy, emotion, and identity — that’s the most rewarding part. I love crafting a sound that truly represents the artist, something timeless and personal. Every project challenges me to push my technical and creative limits, and that’s what keeps me inspired. In short: I love turning an artist’s vision into music that lasts.

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: The most common questions I get from clients are: 1️⃣ “How long does it take to finish a track?” It depends on the project, but usually I deliver full production, mix, and master within 3–7 business days. I take the time needed to ensure top-tier sound and consistency. 2️⃣ “Can I ask for revisions?” Of course. Revisions are part of the process — my goal is for the track to fully reflect the artist’s vision. 3️⃣ “Do you work remotely?” Yes — I collaborate entirely online with artists worldwide. Just send me your references and files, and I’ll keep you updated through every stage. 4️⃣ “What kind of sound can I expect?” A modern, clean, and powerful sound — ready for streaming platforms and always tailored to your unique style. In short: clear communication, solid deadlines, and results that hit hard.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is thinking that “producing” just means making a beat or mixing a track. In reality, production is about building a sonic identity — understanding who the artist is, what emotion they want to deliver, and how to translate that into sound. The technical part is just the surface; behind it there’s vision, direction, and emotional intent. My job isn’t just to make a track sound good — it’s to make it speak the right language so it truly connects with listeners.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: When starting a new project, I always ask a few key questions to fully understand the artist’s vision and identity: What’s the main vibe or emotion you want the track to express? Do you have any sound references or artists whose style you’d like to capture? Should the song feel more melodic, aggressive, or atmospheric? Do you already have vocals or recordings, or are we starting from scratch? Is there a specific deadline or release goal for the project? These questions help me build a tailored production, aligned with the artist’s vision and ready for an industry-level release.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: My advice is to communicate your vision clearly from the start. The more you share about your vibe, references, emotions, and goals, the better I can craft something truly tailored to you. A great project comes from real collaboration — trust, honest feedback, and clear timelines are the keys to success. When the artist and producer are on the same wavelength, the music naturally hits both hearts and speakers.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: If I were stuck on a desert island, I’d bring: My laptop – the brain of everything. My studio headphones – I know exactly how they translate. A clean, reliable audio interface like Audient id 24 A compact MIDI controller to sketch out melodies and beats fast. A versatile condenser mic to capture vocals or any creative sound around me.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: My journey started from a genuine passion for sound and production. I began several years ago as a sound engineer, focusing on mixing and mastering for emerging artists, and eventually evolved into a full-scale music producer, building songs from the beat to the final master. Over the years, I’ve worked with various artists in the trap, hip-hop, and urban scenes, developing a sharp ear for modern, competitive sound design. I’ve been doing this professionally for several years, and my goal is to help artists reach an industry-level sound without losing their unique identity.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: I’d describe my style as modern, atmospheric, and powerful — always balancing emotion and impact. I love building productions that draw listeners in instantly, blending hard-hitting drums, deep bass, and evocative melodies. My sound is clean, three-dimensional, and distinctive, always industry-ready but with a personal signature. In short: music that hits hard, feels big, and stays memorable.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I’d love to work with 50 Cent, because he embodies a timeless musical mindset — clear vision, strong identity, and a sound that shaped an entire era. I admire how he delivers power and realism even through simple productions — every track feels clean, iconic, and perfectly structured. Working with someone like him would be the perfect blend of experience, storytelling, and modern sound — creating music that feels classic and new at the same time.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: My biggest advice: don’t chase someone else’s sound — build your own. Technical skills matter, but real power in production comes from personality and vision. You can have every plugin on the planet, but without intention, taste, and direction, your track won’t truly connect. Study your influences, then break the rules with purpose — that’s how timeless music is made.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: I mainly work on trap, hip-hop, and modern urban music, but I love blending melodic, electronic, and experimental elements to create something unique. My sound focuses on energy, depth, and vibe, with detailed productions and clean, powerful, and up-to-date mixes. I work with artists who want to take their sound to an industry level while keeping their authentic identity intact.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: My strongest skill is turning raw ideas into fully produced, modern, and competitive tracks while keeping the artist’s soul intact. I have a sharp ear for balance, depth, and punch, and a creative vision that helps me build cohesive and unique productions. I combine technical precision with musical sensitivity, making songs that don’t just sound good — they hit emotionally. Simply put: I know how to make a track sound like a real record.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: I bring identity, depth, and impact to every track. My goal is to make the song sound professional and competitive, while keeping it real and true to the artist’s vibe. Technically, I focus on balance, space, and punch, refining every detail in the mix and arrangement to create energy and character. Artistically, I bring my producer’s vision and engineering precision, helping artists find their signature sound — not imitate someone else’s. In short: I make your music sound like you — just the best version of you.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: My workflow always starts with understanding the artist’s vision — the vibe, emotion, and message they want to deliver. From there, I build everything around that energy: I create a custom beat, shape the song structure, then move into mixing and mastering, making sure every element hits hard and sounds clean, balanced, and industry-ready. I keep constant communication throughout the process, sending updates and revisions to make sure the final product reflects the artist’s true style. My goal is to deliver music that’s ready to release and built to stand out, both sonically and emotionally.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: My studio is built for professional production and mixing, designed to balance technical precision with creative flow. I work in a hybrid setup that blends the warmth of analog with the flexibility of digital. My gear includes PMC Result 6 studio monitors, Audient id24 interface, and a premium plugin chain featuring Plugin Alliance, FabFilter, UAD, and Waves. I produce and mix mainly in Studio One, optimized for trap and modern urban music, while staying versatile for melodic or experimental styles. The goal is always the same: a clean, powerful, and industry-level sound.

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: I’m inspired by producers and engineers who shaped the sound of modern music — Mike Dean, Metro Boomin, Jaycen Joshua, Serban Ghenea, and Timbaland. I admire how they turn technical precision into pure emotion. From each of them, I take something different — the elegance in mixing, the creativity in production, and the ability to craft a signature sound for every artist. That’s the mindset I bring to every project: powerful, unique, and emotionally engaging music.

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: I specialize in turning ideas into hits. Most of my clients come to me for full song production — I handle everything from custom beat creation to mixing and mastering, making sure every track sounds fresh, powerful, and radio-ready. I work mostly in trap, hip-hop, and modern urban styles, always delivering a sound that stands out and connects. My focus is simple: bring your vision to life and make your music sound exactly how it deserves — industry-level and ready to drop.
