Really quality work received from K as always. I made a bunch of rookie mistakes this time round and must of put this mans ears through hell and back! Yet he stayed professional and remained extremely positive. Blessed to have him work on my songs.

They say 3rd time's the charm, but K had the charm from the jump! Very pleased with how this song turned out! Thanks again!!

This has been an amazing experience working with him. Not only was my song mixed to an industry standard quality, I also was in the loop for every single step of the project which is a huge deal for me as I am more of a hands on artist as much as I can be. His communication start to finish was AMAZING and his attention to detail is unmatched. I have nothing but good things to say!!!
Interview with san kira
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on my SoundBetter jobs! Making beats on my free time.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, audio interface, mic, headphones, a mouse!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Probably the latest release from an artist named Detroit Zeus! I am his full-time engineer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Compact lifestyle is the way to go!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Best value. Great sounding mixes in time. Experiments and flow of ideas!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: My turn-around time. This is my full-time job, so I'm always reachable. The turn around time for the first demo is anywhere between 24-72 hours and it's usually less than 24 hours to get a revision done.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Oh boy, don't get me started!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Deadlines! I can't be late.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When sending me a song to mix, look for some reference tracks, songs that you like and imagine your song to sound like.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for over 9 years now! Started as an artist, was interested in learning music production secrets, then realized I love mixing and managing artists.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Polished. I like my mixes to be very polished but I also like to keep things natural, totally depends on my first listen to the song and what the artist is going for. I remember when artist Bibo liked to keep mic noises in his tracks and that made his songs sound somewhat different. Awesome experience.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Create a space, a world! Pay attention to the dynamics. The key is to have a vision and execute it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of my clients do rap or pop music. Currently, as an artist, I work on hip-hop subgenres to bring out the 2010s electronic sound.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocal processing! And polishing mixes overall.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Life, dynamics, polished radio sound, creative vocal production.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Get to know clients' wishes, structure files in an effective way, and decide communication paths. Open, transparent and efficient.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mike Dean, Shawn James, a lot of old school hip-hop artists, as well as modern hip-hop artists. New waves like Bladee, draingang, Yeat always surprise with their avant-garde sound as well.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I take control of various music projects and make sure I do everything to make them sound as best as they possibly can sound. Starting with mixing, vocal and beat production, finishing with clean mastering.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: JBL 305, YAMAHA HS7, AH-M20X, M40X, M50X, MOTU M2. I love my 305s, m20x, and old pair of earpods because I know their sound very well.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Honestly, anyone who inspires me. As an A&R manager, I love seeing different approaches and help artists find new ways to communicate through music.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love finding something that I think an artist would love to hear on a track but didn't specifically ask for.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I recommend my clients. I always leave great reviews when I like artists I worked with.
