My name is Cameron Wager, I'm from San Diego and I have been engineering since 2017. Collaborating with a diverse range of clients and artists within the bustling entertainment industry became my daily reality. Working with labels has given me the opportunity to expand my sound by working on many different styles & genres. My specialty is Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, & Pop. I am known for providing industry standard quality at independent prices and take great pride in upholding my reputation for excellence while constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity. I am dedicated to helping my clients bring their artistic visions to life in the realm of music production, film soundtracks, voice-over recordings, and more. I am grateful for the trust and support we've received from our clients and collaborators throughout this incredible journey. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am most proud of woking with 03 Greedo on his upcoming feature & with OTF on their upcoming projects. As an engineer, you really take the reins of a session/project and when artists at that level give you their trust it means a lot. As well as working with artists you've listened to for years is a special moment!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently mixing a Rap/Melodic Rap project for Deazy, a record for Tniyah's debut album, Henry AZ's upcoming single. I most recently mixed "Muddy Pop" by 03 Greedo & Justin Traye, scheduled to release this year.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, love using analog gear during recording sessions and sometimes plugging analog gear in my chain when I mix.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: They will sound better than they did before coming to me.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love having the opportunity to do what I love and create everyday.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How serious is music for you?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Please be professional, love music, and willing to grow together.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing this since I graduated high school in 2017. I started off mixing songs for local artists in San Diego/North County. I eventually went to school for Audio Engineering, gained an internship at FourLoveStudios in North Hollywood, and began my professional career. It sped up quickly once I moved to LA and began freelancing in studios all around the Los Angeles area. Nowadays, I mostly mix tracks for my clients.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Enjoy what you work on.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on Hip-Hop/rap/R&B/Pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is bring the artist's vision to life. I do my best to put myself in the artist's shoes when working on a project to ensure I am only enhancing the project sonically & not changing the artist's concept.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I am most known for making artists' vocals & songs in general sound polished and radio ready. I bring a level of expertise on the technical side of things and a versatile approach to mixing due to having years of experience adding textures/effects to various genres.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually check my emails, set up sessions, review client notes, make necessary changes, send songs out for review, make any revisions if necessary, and repeat.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: David Yungin Kim
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly I mix and master tracks that get sent to me from artists who either record themselves or at their local studio.
