I've been playing saxophone and woodwinds for 20+ years now and have recorded work spanning genres from pop to bebop to hip-hop. As a Phoenix musician, I've had a lot of experience on the ground ranging from being a musical director, horn arranger, and session saxophonist for local bands and songwriters. In my recording and performance experience, the main idea for me has always been figuring out how to best serve the artist and song. Not every song needs a bitchin sax solo but what happens if a song needs something else? Classic bands like Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Chicago and Steely Dan have helped pave the way to understanding how horns can move a song and listener emotionally. Working as a horn arranger and being part of a horn section means how can you best fit and bring the best "sonic energy" to the collective sound. At Sonido del Sol, we strive to move the "soul dial" up in any project we're involved in.
All horn arrangement inquiries are taken seriously and priced according to needs. Sonido del Sol works with the best local horn players. For horn arrangements, let me know your needs on the type of horns you'd prefer. For example, sometimes a horn line is just trumpets and trombone with no saxophone.
