Hi there, I'm a professional multi-percussionist based in Barcelona, Spain. I work from my studio which is equipped with a collection of instruments from around the world. I specialise in afro-centric music, in particular afro-cuban and flamenco music. I have also a fair experience with percussion in afro-peruvian and Latin Music.
My main instruments are cajon, congas, bongo, and an hybrid-kit percussion-set.
I like to think of percussion instruments not only as the crucial part of the groove foundation but also as the colours that enrich and help shape the landscape of a music piece.
If you are looking to add some "flavour" or colours to your track contact me and let me know exactly how you would like your tune to sound like with my percussive instruments.

Interview with Michele Pintus
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I recently had to record percussions for the music that is intended to be the "soundtrack" of a poetry book by the Colombian poet Amada Blasco. The poems are written in a style that takes inspiration from the Japanese "Haiku" way of writing poems: very short poems that function with few symbolic words. In this project I was asked to play the bare minimum in accordance with the style of the poems. The challenging and interesting part of it was that with much less I had to say more. A highly enriching musical experience.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To deliver a well-thought, sincere and truthful music piece.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being able to be part of the life of a song, making it alive, enriching it with silence if needed, not by standing out but by merging with the music along with all the other instruments.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How "busy" you want your music to sound? What is the mood you are looking for in the track that needs recording?
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a summary of all my music experience as a musician, as a listener and as a person outside my music.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A clear and transparent conversation between session musician and client is essential.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: World music, fusion, pop, latin music
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I like to think that is musicality.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to bring to a song the "environment" and the "colours" that it needs taking into consideration the expectation of the clients and my judgment.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record the percussion instruments and sounds that best suit the style and character of the music I have to work on.
