Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Been working closely with Tamahau in the last few years, and it's been a joy seeing his music grow, from 0 fans when we just started to millions of listeners nowadays.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No, I'm new to this platform.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both are important, and both have their place in the studio. However, the digital world is becoming very close to the sound quality of analog gear and it's more convenient nowadays.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will stay true to their vision and I will make it better.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like the most that people allow me to be a part of their journey and experience their music. So I take great care with what was handed to me.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Question: How quick is your turnaround? Answer: as quick as the payment comes through.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I will be fixing something that hasn't been done correctly in the first place. I will do my best but that's not the ideal situation for the best possible results.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Please have your arrangement done correctly and don't leave it to be fixed in the mix.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Logic Pro, SM7b, Neve 73, my amazing Focals, and my Spotify subscription.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for the last 12 years. I started as an engineer in a radio station, a couple of years later I moved to be an assistant in a recording studio and then graduated to be an in-house engineer. worked in that facility for 5 years and now I run my own studio.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work one day with Idan Richal, his arrangements with world musicians are mesmerizing and it always inspires me.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure your rhythm section and vocals are tight, and the rest of the mix will fall in place around it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on mainstream music but occasionally I also work with indie musicians.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I spend a lot of time making sure the vocal is right.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my taste and my technical skill to make it better.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually try to identify the main element of the production that has the most emotional impact in the arrangement and build the rest of the production around it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup is quite big, I use Logic Pro 10 as my main DAW and Focal as my main nearfield speakers. I have a lot of outboard gear, microphones, and guitars that are being used daily for my productions.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm very inspired by the production of Stargate and also Max Martin. I find there is a lot of beauty in the way the production is very clean and focused on the vocal performance.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
