Interview with IndieGo! - Studios
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm very proud for my work with one artist, I work with for more than 10 years, because we went all the way together. Every song he does is actually an artwork.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working for 4 artists in Germany, who are very talented. Some of them are recording just singles and others are recording albums.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new here and I don't know anyone here.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, because digital-plugins are often similar to analog. But analog has more Soul and more warmth.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will do my best for the best sound you can get.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love to work with other artists and create a Sound-Baby with them!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Why do you take so much money? Because I work for years on this and I know what price is fair for my passion in your Sound.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm not just pushing and pulling the volume-controllers and bad vocals will never sound like Michael Jackson oder Whitney Houston.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's your vision? Are you open for another POV? and are you able to get fair critics?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Get in touch with the producer and check what is his vision and what are his fables in music. If it is compatible send him the best stems you can do.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My MacBook, my SSD, my headphones, my audio-interface and my microphone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 2007 I began to produce music. 2010-2012 I worked with different famous German producers. Since the Corona-Pandemic I booked some Online-Seminars for example at the Berklee College of Music and Masterclasses of famous Producers from all over the World.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A healthy mix of Modern and Vintage.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Raf Camora, because he is a genius. Also with different Artists like Ed Sheeran, Konshens, KMN-Gang and many more, to improve our experience in Sound-Settings.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Ask me all your questions an I'll give my best, to help you! :)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Reggae, HipHop, Pop & Dancehall
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My creativity and ability to feel the sound.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Our soul, our passion and the vibe of the artist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First we hear the stems together and do a fast "volume-mix" to catch the vibe of the song and get inspired for the mixing progress. In the Next step we analyze the material and sort all stems for a better workflow. After that we synchronize all Vocals together, so the sound is clean and ready for Vocal-Tuning. After the tuning we are clearing the Sound with EQs, Compressors and volume-automation. In the last step we give the stems a soul with different effects, depending on the sound of the genre or style.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We are working in a small studio, optimized for mixing and mastering. But we are also able to do vocal-recording.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Raphael Ragucci, Jugglerz, The Cratez
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Vocal Tuning, Editing and Mixing. Also Mastering for Songs our Team produced.
