  1. Review by Harriet T.

Hi Angela is a real pleasure to work with. She get back to me with her vocals really quickly and added fantastic background vocals too. Her voice is smooth and very pretty and suited my song perfectly. I can definitely recommend Angela as a professional artist who is easy to work with and produces fantastic vocals.

I collaborated with Angela Soffe for over three years on multiple songs. Working with Angela is surreal because of her professional approach. She plans, communicates, and keeps her commitments. Angela's lyrics stir the shared humanity in all of us. Her angelic voice carries the message with grace. We tracked her vocals in the studio, and she also tracked them remotely. She penned the lyrics, wrote the melodies, and performed the vocals. As an accomplished pianist, her formal training comes to bear often. Angela even excels in promoting, copywriting, and interviewing. Angela is the real deal!

Angela Soffe was a great choice. Her song writing is truly gifted. Her voice is amazing! And her production skills bring it all together. It is rare to work with someone so capable and with such diverse abilities. She understood our needs and more than delivered. Our endorsement and recommendation are absolute!

Interview with ANGELA

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Don't overthink it! Analysis paralysis is real - and will keep you revising and editing endlessly. Just go with your first impression, your artistic ear is usually right the first time so follow that and don't overcomplicate with repeated fixes and tweaks.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: Singing lead on ballads, intimate folky melodies, lullabies, and quieter, more soothing songs.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: I'm producing a series of Hip Hop LoFi Beats Folk Songs, producing and singing on a Christmas hymn series for clients, and recording an Americana album in Nashville, TN. Doing what I love for a living!

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I've been creating music and singing since I was 8. I began studying classical piano at age 5 and continued through college where I toured with a folk band, and leaned into the Americana world of songwriting. I've released 3 solo records (one coming soon out of Nashville, TN) and since the pandemic I now produce my own music from my home studio. I've been singing for as long as I can remember. It's been an enormous part of my life and I love creating new, beautiful songs!

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: My style is soft, soothing, gentle, and emotional. My voice is not for the background - I deliver a vocal experience that makes listeners pause, lean in, and pay attention.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: I'd love to work with Matt Kearney - his music has impacted my life personally, and his music is an awesome blend of acoustic rock and pop. Love the style.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I usually do vocal work in the realm of Americana, Folk Pop, and Country, as well as ethereal EDM. I also enjoy producing Hip Hop and Classical instrumentals.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: Songs are ALL about the emotional connection. I'm a lyrics person - I listen to lyrics constantly! As the singer, my main goal is always to connect the listener to the meaning, or energy of the song. I treat every song as if it's my own and sing to it from the deepest parts.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: Upon receiving your work request, I always make certain we're a good fit before proceeding. I'll check in with you to discuss the type of sound you're looking for and verify we share the same vision for your project, AND that I can provide the work within the time frame requested. Once that's settled, I'll ask you to provide: 1. The track 2. Song lyrics 3. A melodic sample 4. A reference track (a song with the sound/style you're looking for) Then I'll get to work recording and/or crafting the song for you! I typically prepare my voice with rest, water, and warm-ups before recording. Then I'll send you a quick run-through (a verse and chorus) to make sure we're on the same page before continuing with the song.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: My full-time music studio is equipped with a Logic Pro X DAW, Imapct CX49 MIDI controller, Scarlett Focusrite Interface, Baby Blue Bottle Condenser Microphone, a Yamaha MX88 Keyboard, D10 Martin guitar, 75th Anniversary Taylor guitar, and Leonardo Classical Brazilian guitar.

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: As an artist myself, I'm inspired by songwriters and singers in many genres! A few that have impacted my own vocal tastes are Sia, Lady Gaga, Allison Krauss, Bonnie Raitt, Sarah Bairelles, Norah Jones, and Selena Gomez. (Just to name a few!)

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: I provide clients with high-quality lead vocal production, harmonies, background vocals, and adlibs. All files are edited, tuned, and delivered dry. I also provide melodic and lyric topline to beats and existing productions.

  • About the BLOOM albumOct 20, 2022

All the songs are original. Songwriting is how I process what I feel, and there's been so much to say. This album is about making something beautiful out of life's ups and downs.

While I write in many styles for other artists and singers...Americana music has my heart. It's the style that most easily flows out of me when I write. It feels easy and fluid, and fun to perform and make.
