Deep down, I really want to be an actor. But in the meantime, I'm pretty good at music and stuff.

With over 15 years of Music Production, Recording, and Live Performance experience, my focus is now primarily on Mixing and Mastering. I have produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered for numerous artists, mainly in the Pop, R&B, and Gospel genres.

Talk about making dreams come true... Carl made my debut single a hit by simply listening to the ideas that I pitched and complimenting the lyrics that I wrote with incredible instrumentation — ultimately creating an awesome project experience. He uses his God given talent to turn an idea into a reality. I would highly recommend his services.

Carl is an incredible producer and overall great human! He’s super easy to work with, and catches vision very quickly and eagerly. I met him a few years ago, and since then it’s been a great relationship both personally and musically. Since day one, I claimed him as “my” producer. Lol The vibe was, and remains to this day, IT! He works tirelessly on projects, pays very close attention to detail, and delivers super timely. HIGHLY recommended! Can’t wait for the world to see and hear more from this brother!

Interview with Carl J. Byers

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: Currently, the nucleus of my setup is a 21.5-inch iMac (2019) with Retina 4K, a 3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and a Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB graphics card. I also have a pair of KRK Classic G3 Studio Monitors, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro studio monitoring headphones, and a PreSonus AudioBox USB.

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: Starting out, it was easily Timbaland, Kanye, and Pharrell. Nowadays, there are so many amazing producers and producer-artists that I couldn't possibly name without missing someone important. However, I do always cite Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly as the single most inspirational album of my adulthood, no question.

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: Typically, my clients send me voice memos of their song ideas. From there, I compose original pieces for them to record to, which I then mix and master to their liking.
