Multi-Talented dude! Not just a high quality producer but songwriter as well.
Julien is a great music producer.
You can expect modern sound design, clean mixes, powerful masters, and a high production quality overall.
But besides his technical skills he‘s also a great person to work with. He‘s very ambitious and passionated about music and you can really feel that he puts heart and soul into every project.Julien is one of the best producers I’ve worked with. His music 100% hits the music industry standard and he can come up with creative and unique productions! Definitely recommend getting in touch with him for all your productions!

Interview with Julien Fade
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm really proud of Julien Fade & Nu-La - Breathe in the Blue released on Selected. It's my own artist project's release and I just think the record turned out amazing!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog gear is awesome, it gives so much character. In combination with working in a DAW that's my way of combining the best of both worlds.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook; Headphones; Speakers; Microphone; & Espresso... yeah that's not gear but I mean it's still pretty awesome.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started producing music when I was 14 years old. Quickly I became obsessed with making remixes of popular songs at that time. My mixes initially never sounded like the pros when I started why. So I started looking for the science behind music production. This led me to studying Audio Engineering and Music Production at the Conservatory of Amsterdam when I turned 18. I kept developing my craft ever since.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A lot of exciting projects for my own artist profile as well as some big co-productions for other people.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To give my very best. Every time.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working with people from all over the world is awesome. There is so much talent, so much potential. Giving good ideas the care they deserve makes everyone involved happy.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: A lot of questions are about the pricing, but I'm not competing on price. There will always be someone charging less money, but you pay with frustration.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception about me owning a guitar is that I should know how to play it. I don't haha. Looks pretty damn cool tho.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask what they hope the result would be like. At this point references, idea snippets or anything that translates the vision is welcome.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't worry too much. We'll make it work! Promised ;)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Timeless. Making Records that last.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: From the producer side for sure: Clavin Harris & Jax Jones. I would also be very happy to work with legendary singers such as Halsey, Dua Lipa or Zara Larsson.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Pay attention to how the music feels to you. When it feels right, it is right.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My main focus is most definitely pop & house music. Nonetheless, expanding the comfort zone beyond that usually leads to stunning results.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is work ethic.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: As a Mixing & Mastering Engineer I bring the depth and final polish to a song. I make sure there is focus and definition in every instrument and that the entire composition feel like a finished song rather than a puzzle of individual tracks.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: In the first step it's important to me to figure out what the client really wants. Sometimes it's hard to put it into words thats why I usually ask for reference songs or other practical ways of showing it. Once we started working I like to lay out a first idea of what it could sound like to ensure that it's the right direction. From there on I keep the other side involved in the process because at the end it only matters what they think of it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm currently working from Mixing & Mastering Studio at Hüttenberg near Frankfurt, Germany. It's fully Analog Studio with Digital DAW and Plugin integration. Some gear highlights are LA-2A Teletronix, Slate Pro Audio Dragon (1176), Pendulum Audio Quartet, Bettermaker Bus Comp, Bettermaker Mastering EQ, Tube-Tech HLT 2A, buzzaudio SOC-M Mastering, Gyratec X Vari-Mu Tube Comp, Burl B2 Bomber ADC, 2x Shelford Channel.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Artists like Calvin Harris, Jax Jones, Sonny Fodera. They always put the singer in the spotlight and surround them with their production. The instrumental never fights for attention. Minimalism and Space is key here.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the time I work with Producers, Singers & Songwriters. They typically want to make their amazing vocals into full-fetched productions to finally be able to play it to their audience. Outside of that, Mixing or Mastering is the second most common request.
