Interview with Kunle (Koon-leh)
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look to hire people that will be invested in your art, as opposed to people that are just trying to make money off of you. I only take on projects that I can and want to be invested in.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Focus on the idea. Spend as much time as needed making sure the idea is as simple and as effective as possible, yet still memorable and unique; the song will then write itself.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop and acrobat tracks mostly.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I turn it into a record. I enjoy making songs sound "larger than life", and making the chorus hit you "in your face".
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I understand the importance of incubation and staying fresh, so I structure my work process in separate stages where I keep myself operating at an optimum level throughout the session, therefore delivering the highest quality record.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Macbook Pro, Apollo Twin MkII, Sennheiser HD 650 headphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Pretty much Drake, Travis Scott, and Burna Boy currently.
