Tahlia Gabrielle on SoundBetter

Looking for high quality instrumentation, production, and/or mixing? I specialize in Christian, Worship, CCM, Indie, & Pop. Let's create a hit! As an indie artist myself, I understand what it's like to have a vision in mind for your song. I can help you bring that vision to life. I do remote production, live session instrumentation, mixing, & more.

My name is Tahlia and I'm a proficient multi-instrumentalist, producer, mixing engineer, and songwriter. I am the founder of Rhythm City Recording, a remote recording and production company. I am also the Production Director for Lighthouse Christian Center in Puyallup, WA. I have many noteworthy accomplishments in the music industry like winning international drum competitions, being chosen as a Washington State Ambassador of Music, and mentoring under multi-Grammy winning sound engineers. I have a huge heart for the Lord and I love to work like-minded artists that use their musical gifting to worship the Lord and bless His people with encouraging and relatable songs. Whether you are looking for a full production or just someone to lay down a live drum track, I'm your gal!

Check out some of the ways we could collaborate:
- Full-Instrumentation Production (live and/or midi)
- Partial Production (including vocal comps, arranging, programmed midi tracks, sound design, etc.)
- Mixing
- Songwriting and Co-writing
- Live Session Drum & Percussion Tracks
- Touring Drummer
- Podcast or Voiceover Editing & Mastering

One principle I like to set in the production process is to take influence from many of your favorite genres and create a sound that is completely unique, while still remaining grounded in your musical taste. Let's make you stand out!

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Tahlia is a great drummer. I hired her to play regularly for my church and plan to hire her to record in the future. She's a pro.

Tahlia is AMAZING to work with. I have worked with her as a drummer and producer. She always does a great job collaborating with me and making sure my song is turning out exactly like I want it to.

Interview with Tahlia Gabrielle

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: All my original music because I get to share the special things in my heart.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I get to do what I love. Music is my life.

  5. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  6. A: Most often, customers ask for my opinion on their song. I always bring encouragements and improvements. I want you to sound good just as much as you do!

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I'm on my career path and I love what I do. I've been a musician for 20 years and a producer for over 6 years.

  9. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  10. A: My personal releases, as well as production for others.

  11. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  12. A: Multi-Grammy winning producer, Mike Mangini, my awesome mentor.

  13. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  14. A: Both! They both have their purpose in production.

  15. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  16. A: You'll be walking away with a new friend and fan.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: I don't only work with Christian artists. I love working with anyone on any project!

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: I usually ask to hear what other artists or songs you can pull inspiration from. It's always good to have musical references for what you are trying to create.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Make sure they can bring YOUR vision to life. Don't hire someone that makes every song sound like it's "their signature sound"... this is for YOUR signature sound!

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: An acoustic guitar, midi keyboard, microphone, interface, and Macbook Pro.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Creating new styles and sub-genres for Christian worship music.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I love working with anyone, but I especially love any artist that is just getting started. I love to help up and coming artists develop their unique sound.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Don't only use the most popular instrument plug-ins out there. While those are great for a reason, everyone uses them, so it can make finding a unique sound for yourself more difficult.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Christian, worship, CCM, pop, indie, instrumentals, country, etc.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Drumming, production, and mixing.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Everything!

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Hear the artist's inspirations and vision for their song, then make their vision come to life.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a bunch of instruments... by a bunch I mean over 30. My studio looks very similar to Jacob Collier's music room :)

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I am inspired by all musicians! I feel like everyone brings something new to the table. For professional inspirations, my mentor, Mike Mangini, is a multi-Grammy winning producer and he has taught me so much.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Session drumming, production, and mixing.
