Bassist for Naia, Latin-Funk band with half a million streams worldwide. Bringing your music to life, with the funkiest, grooviest bass that your track deserves.
Hi! I'm Lumai, a professional bass guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from London.
With over a decade of experience performing, writing, producing and recording, I am an expert bassist, specialising in soul, funk, jazz, and hip hop. With such a broad background, working with a wide range of artists in countless projects, I enjoy bringing my sound to a variety of different genres and styles, and adapting to any musical situation I am in.
I love to work with truly passionate artists and producers, collaborating together to find that perfect sound. Let me know the feel you are hoping for and send me over whatever you have so far (audio, reference tracks, chords, sheet music, etc.). I pride myself on my ear and musicality, so I'm confident we can get an amazing result with whatever you have so far.
I have a range of professional recording equipment and will always get you a polished performance in high-quality format and in the bit/sample rate you need.
So if you need those D'Angelo neo-soul grooves, some Stevie Wonder funk or that modern-jazz sound, then look no further - you won't find a better option at such a reasonable price. If you have multiple songs, then let me know so we can work out a great deal together.
Please get in touch through the contact button above - I can't wait to talk with you about your project!

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The raw groove of Pino Palladino's bass playing with D'Angelo is a huge inspiration to my feel in many projects that I am part of. That being said, I can't get enough of the tight, funky, original bass playing of Rocco Prestia with Tower of Power.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly, I do remote bass guitar recordings for clients, primarily for funk, soul and jazz projects.
